Like I said Hayseed, the excuses are valid. I didn't expect Glennon to look great in every game. The point is he NEVER had a great game. He never flashed brilliance. If he would of had just two games where he just showed up for all for quarters and looked like a great QB....I'd be all for giving him another year. ...but he didn't. Cause he isn't great. Never has been and almost certainly never will be.
Noodle Arm Peyton Manning is 3rd overall in YPA.Demaryius Thomas is #1 overall in YAC.Hmmmmmmm...what a coincidence .
Hate to break it to you, but Manning is 6th in the NFL in "air yards" - i.e., how far the ball travels before it is caught. YPA is a lot less about YAC and a lot more about accuracy.
Hate to prove Doloris right, but Peyton was actually #1 in air yards. http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/quarterback-air-yards/2013/
Glennon has to have been "great" as a rookie to roll with hi in 2014? wtf?
The thing I find funny is that the same people wanting glennon, don't want manziel.What..are you scared he can't compete in the nfl? ...Well, I have news for you, besides three games..neither did glennon. He would've been roasted, had sully/schiano not told him to be very cautious. I'm willing to bet in an open offense he will get eaten alive, especially by these defenses that are emerging in the nfcs. He's a slower thinking BG imvho.

im not sold on glennon, but I don't want manziel because party boy qbs don't usually translate to the nfl.

Are you a coach? A scout? Former NFL QB? Pretty silly to make statements like that. The kid is smart, driven and has the size and arm to get it done in this league. Your refusal to acknowledge the conservative approach to play calling, the porous offensive line, the fact he played the toughest schedule in the NFL, and he was throwing to guys like Tiquan Underwood, Chris Owusu, and Tim Wright and how all of it impacted his play is extremely short-sighted.Par for the course, I suppose..So, if Bortles and Manziel stink up the joint next year, will you give them the same treatment? Would you want the team to move on after one season? Something tells me no.

You are proving him wrong, not right. We have different sources though.
Ha! That would be the day....
Another thing you can look at is you say Glennon can't spread the field out? Um did you watch the two minute drill against the niners when he completely dominated the Niners D there in the no huddle and the spread, but Schiano said just because you do it once doesn't mean it will work again. Tedford runs a spread type offense with power running, if he feels Glennon can succeed with his O he will get the first shot, I am not sold on the kid yet but I can't sit here and say he will never be good or great because of one rookie year with up and downs and an awful supporting class, really J dub get real dude
I have my opinion. It is different than yours. You get real dude.

I'm drawing more and more parallels between Glennon and Brad Johnson.I don't like Glennon, never did. Thought we wasted a draft pick that could have been better spent on a D-lineman - or maybe a Left Tackle - but he was made a Buccaneer. Later I came around to thinking he could be an effective NFL back-up - but after a lot of drama, the job and the NFL were thrown at him - turned out that (in the last offense at least) he's a pretty decent game manager. Pros:He doesn't throw picks, he can make all the throws, and he seems willing to stand in the pocket long enough to deliver a strike. He could fit this offense - but only because he has his head straight - he knows who he is. He doesn't fool himself into thinking he can put the team on his back and win a game on his own...at least he knows that, for now. That mentality along with his game managing skills might make him attractive to Lovie, and maybe Tedford. If Glennon works out - he saves Lovie a pretty high draft pick, and about an extra year of development - IF - he continues to understand his role.Whatever happens - with his "attributes", he's going to get hit, a LOT.Cons:He has an elongated throwing motion (slow release) and really slow feet - he seems to have a frame that can hold more bulk - and he better be in the weight room working to add bulk - because with his slow feet and long wind-up - he's going to need it...because as I said...he's going to get hit, a LOT.Jury's still out - but I think he's put enough on film to let Tedford know if he can use him.Brad Johnson had similar traits - but Brad worked incessantly in the weight room, on his release, and on his footwork. He didn't look like a good fit - but he made himself fit. That's my reasoning anyway - I could be wrong - but based on this I don't see the Bucs drafting a QB in the first round. That's going to be an edge rusher or a corner.

You guys let me know when you find an accurate accounting of that BS stat that we can all agree on . LOLThe point still remains . Outside factors other than the QB skew YPA . If you want to make the case that this doesn't skew the numbers ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBaz35ECNI8 ....then I can't help you.
How much "better" would Brady or Manning be if they were running our offense instead of Glennon? Marginally better because they are veterans, but that's it.

That one is a bit of a stretch...
Glennon's YPA was low for several reasons that I'll explain:1. He missed open receivers for check downs2. He had receivers who rarely could make people miss or break tackles, outside of Vjax, so YAC were low3. His receivers dropped plenty of balls4. He often didn't put the ball in an ideal spot to allow the receiver to "catch on the run" allowing for them to get caught from behind or tackled when a better ball would let them run.5. I personally believe that the system was a boom or bust system and considering Glennon's inability to hit a deep ball with any frequency further contributed to his YPA.Some is on Mike, some not. Having a low YPA as a rookie isn't a surprising thing. Mike had a successful rookie season. That's not the question, the question should be can be do significantly better in 2014 because as he was good for a rookie, he was lower half or lower 3rd overall of QBs. The team with the better QB wins a large percentage of games.YPA has a high correlation to winning, so doesn't having the QB with the higher passer rating. As passer rating differential increases (difference between the two QB passer ratings), chances of winning increases.
