At what point does he get fired? It can't be any worse
As one commenter said last week, you can time the punter's release with an hourglass...
Literally lost the game in first few minutes. They need to get head out of their asses
It's not just the punter tho. Yes that's bad but the blocking is awful. We have shit coverage and we have shit returns.
Chase will get his groove back eventually but he's had the yips.
You gotta fire the coach.
Chase has showed up after his rough start.
any other coach/players on any ST unit should be on the hot seat.
props to Chase for his 65 and 57 yarders today.
Bring in new punters this week
literally came on here to ask if Dixon makes it to Tuesday morning or if they bring in some competition on try out day. In regards to Seekpars comment..I think hourglass might be a little much even, I’d say sundial would be more accurate. You’d think after having one blocked in week 2 that his natural internal clock would be actively sped up, but 2 blocked punts in 4 weeks is completely un-acceptable. Problem is outside of bringing back a Camarda type the available punters are few and lacking on quality
Punter needs to go, but he needs to walk out at the same time as the special teams coach. 3 blocked kicks (2 punts/1 FG) is embarrassing at the high school level. You just can’t. The punter takes way too long, but also, today’s punt gets blocked no matter who the punter is. Also, we routinely start drives off kickoffs around the 20-25 yard line, while allowing opponents to start around the 35 yard line. Also, we had 2 penalties on returns today. Also, our punt return coverage is 3rd worst in the NFL allowing 19.2 yards per. Horrible!!!
the blocking needs more focus, that punt block I would say is on Durham he has to help out the center more since hes gonna be late out of his stance. Obviously its the centers assignment but the LS is the most vulnerable guy in punt protect cause hes gonna be late getting out of his stance, so not durham fault but he needs to recognize it and get a helping hand for the protection up the middle. Also unlucky the snap went directly right for a perfect angle on the block, where the defender could just take a striaght shot and get to the block spot asap(about 1 foot in front of the punters foot).
When the pressure comes right up the middle like that you gotta squeeze the gap cause every millisecond counts, you wont get a quick release to go downfield but its better than a block. Durham stepped stepped right to block his man but he opened up that a gap like the red sea.
I timed 2.2 off the snap to punt is about the right time for punt operations so not too much on dixon
Expect to see more pressure block looks until we fix it
Agreed blocking definitely needs to improve, I feel like the blocked FG last week would have been a leaping penalty by most crews but it all worked out in the end, but the kick was still blocked because of poor technique as have were the other blocker kicks. Hats off to McLaughlin though nailing wist would have been 2 career long shots today. Glad to see he bounced back from him yips
It's both the punter and the blocking and the god damn coverage.
It's all bad.
We did get some good returns and we did get some deep kicks so that's something but my god...
Big reality check that the NFL is not for long and hopefully these young Bucs learn that other NFL teams will keep coming after them until they improve on special teams.
The things that stick in my mind of st woes are mclaughlins misses from <40yds which are like turnovers (glad he got his leg sorted out), blocked punt in texans from slow operations(imo, could say lack of focus on ryan miller letting the outside rusher free but thats a hard scan), blocked punt in eagles from lack of focus(tucker also lost on his guy). The jets fg block td was just an athletic play.
Just need to refocus on ST when we out there, bring the eye of the tiger out for every ST operations, lock in on the little things. If the guy aint ed reed winning on an inside move to block a punt im just gonna say its lack of focus and not buckling the chin strap, cause ed reed on punt block was a scary thing.

Good returns on hold up technique
but who knows i prob dont know shit
I think there is video of Soriano running the sideline yelling " I told ya"
if that's true then our own self scouting sucks
