As for the Super Bowl. All of your hamster wheels are spinning and nobody has mentioned the true MVP of the game if not for Brady.
Scotty Miller.
he didn't do anything special other than be around the ball, which is generally what LBs do.
lol
White was nothing but a hyped up hybrid of Nate Webster and Danny Lansanah. He wasn’t even as good as Mason Foster.
This post is about the lunacy of some RB posters, not a defense of White
he didn't do anything special other than be around the ball, which is generally what LBs do.
"White not only led the team with 38 tackles (12 more than the next man on the list, Lavonte David), but also added two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. In each of his three playoff appearances he either tied or broke the Buccaneers' previous record for most tackles in a single postseason game. That included his team-leading 12 tackles in Super Bowl LV."
"League-wide tackle totals are available beginning with the 1987 season, and in the 34 postseasons that covers, only two players have ever recorded more tackles in a single playoff run."
"White is the first linebacker since Pittsburgh's Ryan Shazier in 2016 to have multiple interceptions in a single postseason. He is the first linebacker to have multiple fumble recoveries in a single postseason since Atlanta's LaRoy Reynolds in 2017. He is the first player at any position since Green Bay's Tramon Williams in 2010 to have multiple interceptions and multiple fumble recoveries in a single season. Only six defenders have accomplished that feat, including just three linebackers."
Since tackle totals became available in 1987, White is the only player to record 30-plus tackles, two-plus interceptions and two-plus fumble recoveries in a single postseason."
AGAIN, not a defense of White just mocking the obviously unreasonable argument.
At a minimum, even if you put aside the stats above and just re-watch his play he makes a bunch of those tackles because he keeps using his speed to beat pulling lineman to the spot. Maybe LVD is diagnosing the plays for him, but whatever he's making the plays in the Super Bowl. . a lot of them AS ONE PART of a dominant defense.
He goes on to basically decline from there BASED ON HIS EGO. Glad hes gone, but man . . .. "he just did what a LB is supposed to do!"

lol
he's no Scotty Miller, I will give you that
Still waiting on the secret GM to give us the "real" MVP from the SB.
Really thought he was going to say Scotty Miller.
White's 2020 playoff run was overrated at the time. First of all he didn't even play vs Washington and his replacement Minter made the biggest defensive play of the game. Wjich leads me to my point that he didn't do anything special other than be around the ball, which is generally what LBs do.
Agreed. White gets credit because he did make the plays, but Minter (or any other competent replacement) would have likely made most of those same plays. I tried to inject the concept of WAR into this argument once, and it blew the board simpleton's mind.

I'm with you. Ryan Jensen was money that day.

If it wasn't Brady it was Wirfs. 1 pressure allowed on 33 drop backs and over 9 yards per carry running behind him. Offensive tackles get drafted and paid like QBs but the media leaves them out of consideration for awards and considers RBs. Munoz should have been league MVP in 1988. Trent Williams proved it this year, 49ers couldn't do anything without him. Faneca should have been MVP when Steelers beat Seahawks.
Might be the most significant play in franchise history.
Barber pick against Eagles is up there somewhere.
Bucs win probability before the INT was already 87%. It was fantastic icing on the cake, but it was just icing.
Fair point
I was thinking of the franchise's trajectory, not the impact that one play had on that game. If memory serves, the Eagles knocked us out of the playoffs in both of the two years prior. Both in the Vet too, I think
it blew the board simpleton's mind.
have you ever considered an implant?
Minter (or any other competent replacement) would have likely made most of those same plays
Minter played against WASHINGTON because White was on the Covid List
Minter had 3 tackles, 3 assists and one pass defended
LVD had 8 tackles, one assist a TFL and a sack
White returned against the SAINTS he had:
10 tackles (one a TFL) a fumble recovery and an interception
LVD had 6 tackles and one assist
WAR concept ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It does help to understand the concept. Based on this post, it continues to be blatantly obvious that you don’t.
Not at all surprising from a White leghumper like yourself.
