SR, I am sure you are probably looking to gain favor with players, but it is ludicrous to think that Licht will resign him this offseason. Just look at Sammy Watkins.... A very good reciever, and they didn't pick up his 5th year due to the foot injury. Paying more to keep him later is better than paying him early to not have him.
If Evans, god forbid, blows out a Knee this year after getting a new 3 year guaranteed contract, Licht should be fired. I am all for taking care of players, but what if Godwin ends up being a better overall reciever and more explosive than Evans? What do you do then?
Let things play out and, if all goes better on O this year, then he will get his payday. Taking the risk early is the asinine think McKay or Dominik would have done.
