I really can't believe that there has been no love for the way he played today. When he made that first tackle, I thought at first that it was a linebacker like Lavonte. He was a heat sinking missile on that play. After that it seemed like the Defense (although no pass rush) went to another level. For his understandable small body of work, he is one of the outstanding players for me today.
The ball that he tipped, that Vernon should have had the easy interception on, was a pure hustle play that I haven't seen our safeties make in years. Just thinking back to the last time our safeties have leaped to tip a pass and I can't remember. Most of the time they are out of position and I still think that Conte sucks for the most part.
When McClain had the pick 6 Ward was the first one down there to congratulate him. Funny how McClain left him hanging like he couldn't believe he had just scored. Imagine what will happen when he gets comfortable in this defense and his teammates. Mark my words, his passion is going to rub off on this defense eventually! Love the move in getting him.
