I keep reading posts that state the Bucs should tag and Trade Winston. That is not as easy as people think. It will cost somewhere between 28 and 30 million to tag Winston.
If the Bucs plan to then trade him, the team that agrees to the trade will want the Bucs to pay a portion of Winston's salary. The only way I see that happening is if the Bucs reach a handshake agreement with another team before the Bucs tag Winston. What will the Bucs get in return in the way of draft choices? I don't have an answer for that question. If the Bucs just let Winston walk and he signs with another team the Bucs would get a draft choice without the Bucs having to pay a portion of Winston's salary.
The only reason I see for the Bucs to tag Winston is if they plan to keep him for 2020.
