Loved seeing the community filling out the Trop the past two nights! It was truly great to see. I know people in Tampa struggle to want to watch a game in Tropicana (aka the Thunderdorm) as well as IN St Pete, but that place can def be a fun environment when people show up. I've loved this team since day one, I'm a true O.G. Devil Rays fan. My small Christian high school (Bayshore Christian School, while I was a student) sang the national anthem at the first ever home Devil Rays game. I've heard all the reasons Tampa fans dont support (by going) the team at home, and have experienced the annoying drive from tampa myself tons of times...but I truly wish Tampa would fully get behind this team. We are on the brink of losing them to Montreal..a team we fought so hard to get for many years.
I truly feel bad for these players, they deserve way more support than we give them. This really is a very good team and have numerous players that you can really get behind. I absolutely love Willy Adames, that kid plays with so much heart and exuberance. You cant help but get pumped when hes out there and makes the game so much fun to watch. I love how he is the first guy out of the dugout to congratulate his teammates, and the young energy he brings every game. Adames is my spirit animal lol. This really is a fun team to have watched and experienced over the past few years. No one thought we could pull off back to back years of 90 plus wins, or to have made the playoffs this year with Snell Glasnow Diaz Castillo Lowe Kiermaier Honeywell Duffy Robertson Wendle etc missing significant games due to injury...esp Snell and Glasnow missing the majority of the season. This is the lowest payroll in baseball, but they made a lot of brilliant decisions with the roster and Kevin Cash has proven to be a great manager. I truly love my hometown Rays and pray we dont lose them.
We are facing a game deciding game 5 that might be one of the most unlikely wins in the teams history, but these guys make you want to believe in the impossible. Gerrit Cole ate us for breakfast in game 2, and probably has the best stuff in all of baseball...the Astros have the best lineup top to bottom in the game. However, you just cant count the Rays out. They seem to find ways to grind out runs here and there, play great defense, and give the starter a chance to win.
So please please watch the game Thurs and root hard for OUR team! Go Rays!!!!!
