Ebron is a really good player, but personally I like Sefarin-Jenkins more as an NFL prospect. A lot of guys I prefer over Ebron @7.

Ebron may not be the 7th best player in the class, but as long as he turns out to be a good player and doesn't bust, I can guarantee at least 2-3 of the players picked 1-6 won't be as good as him. If there are 6 players better than him, most of them are going to be picked after pick #7.

Funny you don't take the same mindset in regards to the Barron pick....Is Barron a better pick so far than Trent Richardson , Justin Blackmon , and arguably Moron Claiborne so far ?? I'd argue yes.

I wouldnt jump off the ship if we took Ebron at #7, but I think we get a more complete TE with ASJ in the 2nd.

Sorry to disappoint yall but no way in hell do we pick up a te in our first two rounds. We have far too many needs before te. Slot wr,oline depth,qb,de,maybe corner.

you can find a way better slot receiver in the 4th or 5th than you can a TE. No way we take a TE in the first of course, but in the second its very possible that we could take TE if either Ebron, Amaro, or Jenkins is there. Tedford tried recruiting Jenkins and missed out, then he watched Jenkins beat up his Cal team so there definitely will be some input on Jenkins from our OC.

the announcer did say that when he dropped the ball in was a"rare drop".

Kenny Albert commented on a Vincent Jackson's drop as a "rare drop". Announcers only watch so much of one team and one player.

Apparently Sammy Watkins thinks he is going to be our pick. This was posted on his twitter account. Bgstfrcicaagkbw https://twitter.com/PewterReport/status/435491811302572033/photo/1/large?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=fb&utm_campaign=PewterReport&utm_content=435491811302572033

Yeah. I think he is a lot closer to Fred Davis than Vernon Davis.

Jermicheal Finley is the best comparison. Vernon Davis comparision is a joke by people who just want to reach for TE at #7. Not nearly as big and physical as Vernon. I've seen Ebron drop easy balls over the middle , so that concern is legit.Lots of upside but I don't think he's a top 10 pick .

Finley isn't half the athlete Ebron is. Ebron will be a match up nightmare. The thing that Ebron does is he gets separation consistently. Basically if Tom Brady had this guy to throw to they would be unstoppable. He does it all and he matches up against anyone on defense. He is the best looking TE I have ever seen . His ceiling is perennial All-Pro.

Finley is a very good athlete .... Ebron is NOT twice the athlete . The same size ,and probably about the same speed , both have concentration lapses that cause them to drop some easy balls. They compare similarly. Stop talking out of your ass.

I'm not a big fan of Ebron. He is a physical beast with athleticism out the wazoo...but he is inconsistent, drops a lot of balls. For every jaw dropping amazing circus catch he makes....he drops three easy ones. I don't know about his toughness, so I won't question it....but you have to wonder why he only had 4 TDs in 2012 and 3 TDs in 2013. I mean, I understand his QB isn't great, but damn. You'd think a TE being talked about as a top 20 pick would be a proven red zone weapon. This guy is getting so much hype and he had a total of 8 TDs in 3 years of college football? Touchdowns are not the only thing to look at of course. There are many factors and total TDs is probably not even that important....but it does make you wonder. He'd probably be a good pick in the 2nd round, but I would take ASJ or Amaro over Ebron.

Vernon Davis college stats: 83 receptions 1, 371 yards 9 TD. Eric Ebron college stats:112 receptions 1, 805 yards 8 TD.Both of these guys played in a Pro style offense which asked them to do more than just catch the ball. But when evaluating players, stats is something I really don't look at.
