how many td passes did trask have?
He led the offense to multiple scoring drives.
That’s his job.
agreed and per the rest of my post, a little too early to declare Trask the clear cut #2 or do you disagree?
he very well may be our #2 but i think it's premature to declare victory on that one just yet.
Not too early. Trask is #2. QB Emeritus Bridgewater hasn't played since 2022 and doesn't know the offense. He's taking a break in his coaching career to hold a clipboard. If you think Bridgewater can be #2 barring injury, I have stock in a 400 pound DT I can sell you.how many td passes did trask have?

@badabingbucs I think Trask is #2, Bridgewater was brought in to be a QB room specialist. Almost like another QB coach, someone who Baker can talk to during games and in the film room to help diagnose defenses and in-game adjustments. Teddy has great football IQ and is on the team for his brain as much as his arm.
At least thats my theory anyway lol

OK but by the time he gets up to speed the season will be starting. So the Bucs are going to carry three QBs on the roster this year. I don't see any info about Bridgewater's contract, but I have to guess that it's guaranteed or why would he sign just to spend a couple weeks on the preseason squad?@badabingbucs I think Trask is #2, Bridgewater was brought in to be a QB room specialist. Probably plays a quarter and a half this game, and most of the next. Then likely cut and signed to PS so full salary isnt guaranteed .
I'll bet a dollar he makes the roster. Why would he come here just to go on the practice squad? Both he and the team knows how rusty he is and thait takes time to get up to speed, but he's been around too long to be hanging out with the rookie UDFAs on the practice squad. He'll make the roster... or he'll hang up his cleats altogether.OK but by the time he gets up to speed the season will be starting. So the Bucs are going to carry three QBs on the roster this year. He's an 11 year vet that hasn't thrown a pass that has counted in years. What else is he going to do ? He's not coaching this year, so why not sign for a PS spot ? He'd likely get the max salary @ 25k a week ($450k not counting playoffs) . If god forbid an injury happens in the QB room or he's elevated because another team tries to sign him, his salary goes up, plus he gains another year toward his benefits when he retires. What does he have to lose ? Other teams aren't beating down his door, and he was a volunteer HC so he didn't pull a salary
He's made $64 million in his career. The veteran maximum for the practice squad is $21K a week, which is about $350K if he spent the whole year on it. If it's just temporary for a few weeks until he's fully familiar with the system that's one thing, but if it's just "too bad so sad you're going to the practice squad" - I'll pass thanks.I'll bet a dollar he makes the roster. per front office sports: Practice squad players make significantly more if they have been in the NFL for over two years. Their salaries are negotiable between a minimum of $17,500 and a maximum of $25,000 per week. Thats also a kool story about his career earnings. A simple Google search has his net worth @ 24 mil, still a nice nest egg, but as I mentioned earlier its not just salary, its increased years toward his future pension. In addition I think it was SR that mentioned PS to avoid fully guaranteed salary this year.
Bowles views Teddy as a coach to help out the QB room. That seems reasonable.
Anyone know whether Teddy is scheduled to take some snaps tomorrow?

Bowles mentioned I think it was yesterday that Bridgewater would indeed be getting some snaps tomorrow.
Dang he made $64 mil and his net worth is $24 mil? That's a lot of visits to steakhouses. Anyway $25K per week, but that's still a drop in the bucket for him. If the guy is only making 5% on his 24 mil that's $1.2 mil just having his money in a fund. That's four times an annual practice squad salary just sitting and watching his fund. But he just wants to be on an NFL football team. I don't think he wants to be on a practice squad for more than a couple weeks.

You could see them slide him onto the practice squad for a couple weeks just to play some games with the 53 man roster knowing he's not going anywhere. But that's short term. He has no need to be fighting for a spot on the team. If he just doesn't have it anymore he'll retire.
