I live in Louisville and word around here is that he just loves his teammates, coaches, and college in general. There have been rumors about him wanting to come back over the last month. Him telling teammates he is coming back. At the beginning of the season he came out and said he wasn't interested in the Heisman because he wanted to put the team first. If he does stay it doesn't have anything to do with that. But even with all that said, everyone around here assumes he will end up declaring and think that is whats best for him. Ill be happy no matter what he decides. He is one of this high character kids that you just love to cheer for. And as someone stated earlier in the thread he will earn his degree after this next semester.
Jay Cutler - "...let the bidding begin at $20m per season..."
If Cutler gets a 100mil contract I may lose it.
Meanwhile Johnny Football is partying over this news. Throwing back a few.
Actually he said today that if he isn't projected to be a 1st round pick, then he will return to A&M for another year.
I see him as late first, but not top 10. If he measures out at the combine, 5-10 or shorter, it could be a free fall of epic proportions. Aaron Rodgers type free fall.
AJ...if he is 5'10" his free fall will make Rodgers' look like nothing.
Free agent QBs for the upcoming year include: Shaun Hill (who I would sign), Josh Freeman (insert joke here), Kellen Clemens, Chad Henne (decent depth), Luke McCown (insert another joke here), Charlie Whitehurst (yep...), Derek Anderson and Jimmy Clausen to go along with Cutler....it's slim pickings out there.
Pretty sure Matt Schaub will be available also.
and Jake Locker, I believe. Recent reports were that the Titans were not very interested in having him back.
Schaub would be a fine backup plan. Locker is interesting as well because he looked ok when he was right this year.
Locker did look pretty good this season when healthy. Not sure why Titans want to write him off .Guess they think his asking price will not be worth it.

I guess some teams have higher expectations at QB than average to below average.

He only played in 7 games this year but had 60% comp% , 8 TD's and 4 INt's , and 155 yards and 2 TD's rushing.Still a young guy too . I'd wouldn't mind bringing this kid in for competition and further development at all. Some guys take longer , and don't become the superstar overnight. See Gannon and Warner.
Keep in mind that having a developmental project requires you to reserve a third QB spot.

So what? Give him the keys to your franchise and let him burn it down in flames.I agree with another poster, we aren't taking a QB this year, so I want more QBs in the draft to push other players down but it also works out perfectly as we get another to decide on Glennon and if we decide he isn't the guy, we have all these other prospects who were considered top 10 picks right back into next years draft with us likely having another top pick if Glennon doesn't improve significantly.Really a perfect scenario in my eyes. Who honestly cares of JFF? He's a talented kid, but seems immature and that isn't a good combination for a NFL QB.

He's had three years. He can't stay healthy and is average at best when he is healthy. He'll make a fine back up somewhere other than Tennessee. The Titans have seen enough to agree. Seeing you make excuses for a QB on some other team's roster does explain a lot though. I understand that it is not just a Bucs thing for you. Apparently this is the 1990s and QBs should still get 4 or 5 years of sucking before a team decides they really do suck and moves on. Can't say I agree with that philosophy. For every QB that actually blossoms after several years of being bad, there are 20 that just continue to suck. Not very good odds when you cross your fingers and stick with a loser.

I'm not saying turn over the keys to the franchise to Locker .Locker is just a guy who can push Glennon ,win some games if Glennon got hurt , and maybe develop into something more if we got lucky .
Like I've said, he will make a nice back up somewhere other than Tennessee...but that is a different subject. You said he has played well and you don't know why the Titans would write him off. That is what I was responding too.
