Idk if you can look it up but could there maybe be a mid to late round draft choice at qb that Tedford maybe tried to recruit to Cal, kinda like how Schiano did with Glennon.
Don't know if he tried to recruit him but David Fales of San Jose State played in his neck of the woods and is considered a mid round prospect.
Doubt they go QB in mid rounds. They either get the guy they want in round 1 or 2, or stick with Glennon. But if they do, Aaron Murray is the best option.

Don't see why. Derek Carr is way better QB than his brother. I wouldn't mind the pick.
I am open to him as well. Excited to see how he does at the senior bowl but I know there is a lot here with closed minds due to his brother.
The ironic thing is, if a David had not been a #1 pick and instead was a late rounder and had the same 10 year career as mostly a backup nobody would have a problem with it. It would instead be viewed as a positive that Derek grew up around the NFL.

I really like him as a prospect (Murray). IMO he is the best least spoken of QB in this coming draft. He has many tools that are evident in the few games he played. The game he played against Auburn was a great come back game. He has impressed me.
I've tried to like Murray but in the 3 or so games I've seen him play in he just hasn't impressed me. Looks good at times but finishes looking bad.
also, david carr wasnt as bad as most here make him out to be. When you're the top pick, you play on a bad team. He got killed behind that swiss cheese o-line in the texans early years and it ruined him. iirc they set the record at the time for allowing QB sacks. eventually, he was watching the pass rush instead of his receivers. he isnt completely w/o skill, he has managed to stick around the league as a backup. imo he fell victim to what happens to so many early draft pick QBs: high pick by a bad team, young qb struggles leading bad team, HC fires OC and brings in new OC so young QB must quickly learn new scheme, owners eventually fires HC, new staff comes in and QB must learn yet another scheme, QB is eventually cut and bounces around the league as a backup. You know how many former 1st rd QBs could tell that same story?

Actually I think his brother was clearly better coming out, he just got lobotomized playing for that expansion Houston team with no line.
The meltdown here would happen more because of the draft position not the player, for the most part anyways.
Idk how anyone can really even judge Dereck Carr when about half of his passes are at or behind the line of scrimage and his receivers do all the work. Ive seen him throw for over 300 yards yet barely throw the ball past 5 yards. When he does throw a 10-15 yard pass, its often overthrown

Great point! Murray in the mid rounds is THE steal of the draft. He has it all, but he played at Georgia where his QB coach basically coached him by saying hand off. Murray+Tedford=Goldmine
