Y'all know I'm a Ducks homer but I think this a great pick by Licht. He's electric on punt and kickoff returns so he brings immediate special teams value.
His straight line speed for his size isn't great but he is shifty and smooth in space, especially against zone.
Big fan
Not a bad 7th round pick!
I do agree he is going to be competing against other return specialists like Callaway, C. Johnson and Palmer. It will be a battle for that last WR roster spot for sure. The problem for Tez is that his chance to make the roster as a WR is an uphill climb as he has to be out Jarrett, Shepard, Knue, etc. So Tez has to be the best return specialist to stick. I personally think this is a pick looking into the future for 2026.
I was going to ask about his 40 (4:51) - didn’t seem to track with the bio from the same analyst. Says he has burst and downfield speed?Y'all know I'm a Ducks homer but I think this a great pick by Licht. He's electric on punt and kickoff returns so he brings immediate special teams value.

Your breakdown above seems more in line with the analysis.
“Quicker than fast, very productive, but light frame & length….”
That sounds like another Duck we a know and love from last season’s draft…if I could just remember his name…

Yeah basically. Doesn't have break away speed but he's fast enough..he's shifty like Bucky.
His frame is an obvious concern...
I hope we keep him or stash him. We're super deep at WR but he can offer more than Palmer imo.
Time will tell
Dexter Jackson 2.0.
Can he return punts? Dexter Jackson actually won us a game with a big return.
Yes, he can.Dexter Jackson 2.0.

dexter jackson was the worst returner the world ever saw, he was running backwards in four out of five situations
OK, low rounds do not really matter but I just do not get it, drafting so many WRs and we have one of the strongest WR groups in the league
HOT TAKE, I give the edge to route running and yac for tez johnson over mcmilan
He has elite shiftiness 6.6 cone is very twitchy and it shows up on tape. 11 ft broad jump and 37 vert is explosiveness
Big 10 and pac 12 guys in the secondary are gonna be jsut as big as they are in the NFL, Johnson has a lot of dog in him. Fell to the 7th because of size.
You can see he torched OSU denzel burke, fearlessness over the middle, I do wanna see him block though.
Tank dell is 5'8 165 4.49 and got picked in 3rd round and I think Tez is better, some teams just like a guys tape more or less imo
One of my favorite things to see back in the 00's is seeing a small ass receiver get blasted over the middle and get up like nothing happened thats what i mean by dog that fearlessness

Yeah if he sticks or the Bucs can stash him on PS that would be good for Tez.

Tez Johnson HOF career confirmed

I said it with Bucky and I'll say it again with Tez. You will see.
That said, he's got a lot of players ahead of him and he's taken late 7th so if we can tash him, even better.
The star receivers are aging, the new receivers are only starting to show, or are unproven.dexter jackson was the worst returner the world ever saw, he was running backwards in four out of five situations

If you’re going to make a run at the whole enchilada, you better be deep at the critical positions… and guess what?
I feel like 2 years from now the fan base will get it... It just takes time. Egbuka will be a great player

"Defense wins championships" seems to have been replaced by "Offense wins championships." In the copycat league the team to copy is the Eagles who have a dominant O-line and a dangerous attack from the ground and the air. So the Bucs are doing that as well. They have the complete package on offense.
...but Bowles, unlike Siriani, is a defensive coach. I gave kudos to Bowles for going along with the offense pick in Round 1 at the expense of his defense. He was acting as a HC not a DC, but this is following a year when the offense was already great and the defense was mediocre. Will it work for the Bucs to have an offensive minded team with a defensive minded head coach? They did add defensive players in the subsequent rounds, but did not address the linebacker issue. Will this come back to haunt the Bucs next year, or will they find a way to add some depth at that position instead of relying on UDFAs and castoffs?
