If Falcons win their last two games we are completely out of the playoffs. And that’s when the Bowles era should end.
It probably does but that would really mean the Bowles era began to end with that Falcons loss. Well, one of them.
@badabingbucs - yes, the offense only scored 24 points last night, but the defenses play in the first half sets up the game. Our offense comes out in the second half pressing because they feel they may need to score on every drive. Cowboys don’t really push the ball down the field with the comfortable lead, as they already did their job is dismantling us earlier. It would be nice to have a defensive win just once or twice during the season z
TB’s defense gave up points in 5 out of 6 of DAL’s first drives. There’s your problem right there. I had hoped their recent improvement over the last couple games might mean they were truly trending upwards, but apparently not. They did hold DAL to just a couple FGs in the second half, but it makes you wonder why they couldn’t do that in the first half as well.
the offense sputtered in the first half, but they were able to score a pair of TDs anyway, but the turnovers and penalties were too much to overcome in the end.
the Bucs defense is still the Achilles’ heel of this team, along with self-inflicted wounds like procedural penalties, drops, and fumbles on offense.
but the defenses play in the first half sets up the game.
isn't it sot of the opposite of that?
As SR points out in an article we win when we start fast, but last night it was the offense that faltered early
They get the ball first but we hold them to a FG. WIN for the DEFENSE
We get the ball and turn it over on downs because of a key PENALTY and a DROP on 4th down. LOSS for the OFFENSE.
They get a TD starting at midfield and scoring on LVD. Loss for the DEFENSE, but also short field
We . . . . PUNT LOSS for the OFFENSE.
if you go on from there the OFFENSE has multiple PUNTS (none against the Chargers) and turns over the ball over on downs, interceptions and fumble, but agreed they are pressing.
That being said, they lost the game last night. Similar to how they lost the Falcons 36-30 game where defense was brutal but penalties and turnovers at the end ultimately cost us the game.
Imagine blaming the offense on that one, when your boy and his defense gave up over 500 FREAKING PASSING YARDS and 4 TD's.

my boy? lol. I wanted Bowles fired after 2022
they miss playoffs this year, I’m all for a change
just saying I don’t see it as likely as they will blame this year on “injuries”
but 8-9, losing last 3 would be very reminiscent of when Gruden lost 4 in a row in 2008. That could trigger a change, would put the odds greater than a coin flip.
at 9-8, it’s possible but I don’t know, I think they let him have another year
At 10-7, playoffs - 100% return; no playoffs 90% return
book mark it if you like, and Bowles is in a bad spot if I’m his biggest supporter lmao
And looking at box score, of course our defense is ass and our offense is top 5. No one is arguing that the offense isn’t carrying this teams success.
but looking that there was still a chance to win the game, it’s the offense that came up short last night and in that falcons game.
Terrible timed turnovers. Bucs turned ball over 2 of their last 3 drives with a chance to win the game. Brutal and offense fault we lost.
Defense gave up 3 points in second half last night, looks like they had some “half time adjustments”
if Bucs would have kicked a field goal on that last drive instead of white being over powered, a 27-26 win and we are still a force to wrecken with
Taking the offense and defense out of the equation, biggest difference between this and last year?
injuries.
we got very lucky injury wise last year. Borderline blessed.
this year? Not so much sadly. Tough to replace pro bowl caliber players such as Godwin & awj.

make no mistake about it
Bucs 9-8 last year, but 5-1 in last 6 games.
Bucs entered this year looking like that 5-1 team and quite frankly (taking out the 3 games without Evans - ATL, KC, SF) the team was 8-4 with the propensity to lose a game like they did last night (i.e. reference Saints game last year)
The Bucs will likely finish 9-8 or 10-7; heck one might even suggest improvement
but are we going to sit here and argue that this year's team isn't much better than last years? Our offense led by offensive line, run game; without Godwin even!
The story is not yet over for this year's Bucs. Let's take care of business and root like hell for Commanders or Panthers!

Dallas press coverage
"Overall, the Buccaneers came out on top on the stat sheet with more yards (411 to 317), more third-down conversions (50% to 33%) and the time-of-possession advantage (32:48 to 27:12). But the Cowboys won the battle in one key category – turnovers. Dallas didn't turn the ball over once while Tampa Bay did so twice, both of the Buccaneers' key errors coming in the fourth quarter."
and that is NOT counting the turnover on downs
By the way, Bowles is "incompetent" and has his team going for it on 4th down, Sean Peyton is a bona fide offensive "genius" and yet . . on 4th down
lol
Tough to replace pro bowl caliber players such as Godwin & awj.
Yep. Damn shame we lost both of them for extended periods due to Todd's coaching malpractice.
And, speaking of Godwin (a major part of this offense) and extended missed time by Evans (again, coaching malpractice); the offense has averaged 27.25 points per game since they were both lost. That's good for #8 in the league.
Coen has had to deal with multiple players on his side of the ball missing time. Godwin, Evans, Goedeke, White, Otton, etc.
Yet, he's still been able to adjust and lead an offense that's Top-5 in scoring and Top-3 in YPG this season.
The constant excuses for Bowles' ineptitude is comical.
it’s the offense that came up short last night and in that falcons game.
Imagine blaming an offense that dropped 30 points in that game, in a pathetic attempt to defend your boy.
Crazy town.
None of this matters if Coen is lost next year. I don’t want to see us next year with a Bowles defense and someone other than Coen running this offense. No thanks.

100 out of 100 times, we would pick Coen as head coach over Todd Bowles if it meant we had to lose the other
but what makes the most sense and what happens, doesn't always materialize
if you want Coen to remain, we basically need Bucs to lose the next 2 games
but as a franchise we have been starved for playoff football so i just can't root against the Bucs these next 2 weeks
but what makes the most sense and what happens, doesn't always materialize
that's way too reasonable a take
lol

thats probably how most fans feel but that concept clashes with the view that says "its either Super Bowl or blow everything up."

100% spot on.
