Going against this Bucs defense is too easy. At least a baby will put up a fight for it\\\\\\'s candy. I really think that this is the all-time worst defense in Buccaneers history. I took some snaps of the second half below to illustrate how bad the scheme is. I just want to make it clear that it is not the players that I have issue with in the secondary. It is the scheme.Below you can see that there are 5 targets for Kirk Cousins.
In the next snap we can see that 4 out of the 5 are wide ass open. Only Jenkins has his man covered at the top of the screen in green.Look at the bottom of the screen. Lansanah has the TE but look at the RB in the flat. He is wide ass open and Banks is turned around and doesn't even see that. How is the corner not in position to make the play on the TE, and not in position to cover the RB in the flat? And Kwon Alexander has not dropped deep enough to cover the seam in the middle of the field.
Below you can see that the 2 deep safeties have way too much cushion here. The only play they could defend from that position is a deep bomb. The safety on the bottom of the screen, McDougald should have already made his read and broke on the only offensive player who could possibly go deep to his side of the field but instead as you can see he is still backpedalling!
