Mike Evans, as great is he is and as many yards as he has, don't throw it to him on important downs like 3rd down, he'll disappoint you when it counts. Let him do his thing on first and second down, rack up the yards and TDs on first and second, on 3rd down best case scenario is he draws a flag. Possibly just a post in the heat of the moment, but its been a thought there for awhile.
Really great WRs don't drop easy balls. They also know the rules and don't commit OPI. If he had left his hands down and just run into the defender, he would have gotten that call. It snuffs out a great drive instead and the Bucs settle for a FG. He's clearly past his prime. The Bucs need to let both Evans and Devon White go.

Just about all of them do.
You ladies are letting the team’s shitty performance affect your emotions. Don’t be the those type fans.
Maybe I’m being hyper critical. I just don’t feel he has the hands for clutch downs, too much of a gamble. Evans is boom or bust, so 1st and 2nd down is perfect for him to leverage that upside, but leave the 3rd downs to reliable hands please.

Among WR’s in 2022 on Third-Down, Evans was 1st in Third-Down Success Rate, 2nd in Touchdowns, & 10th in 1st Down receptions.
He dropped a ball today. It happens. He was also open for big plays multiple times, but the QB couldn’t deliver the ball. Evans isn’t the reason team lost today.
Would you rather:
A. Let him play out this year and potentially walk next year for nothing
B. Trade him for a possible 2nd most likely 3rd rounder
or C. Extend him now
im team A and or C & hope he takes a team friendly deal. He already has a ring to when it comes to winning it’ll likely be does he want more rings or not.
Fair points, I suppose just heat of the moment vomit of the mouth by me.
Evans may have dropped the ball, but Mayfield overthrew several and had others batted, including a sure TD to Evans on a blown coverage.
Evans needs to be booted off the team immediately...
all kidding aside, no body enjoyed his drop but get a grip
the whole team stunk yesterday from offensive play calling to Baker to Evans to third down defense play calling, etc.
it's clear to me that we aren't in the Eagles, 49ers, or Lions realm - all 5-1 teams
we are favored against Atlanta this week and it's very likely we can win the weak NFC south with 9 wins.
but i would expect a similar result getting our asses kicked by the Seahawks, Cowboys, or Rams in the first round.
certainly better than anyone expected in year 1 post Brady
Those teams would not kick our ass in the 1st round...
Unless Baker plays like he did today, then I'm not sure there's a lot of teams we can beat.
