Is it just me or have both Winston and Mariota been VERY underwhelming, considering their draft status?
I have been reading the 2 sides of keeping Winston or not keeping him.
For my money, I think it is time to move on. He's in his 4th season and shows no real progression at all. And I don't think it has anything to do with the offensive scheme. From day one, Winston has struggled to throw the deep ball. As a matter of fact, Fitz has a MUCH "prettier" deep throw. With the weapons at WR and TE, this team should be a highlight reel in the passing game. But other than the spurts from Fitz, it has been anything but.
Considering the baggage Jameis carried into the NFL and the fact that he is still aliability, somewhat, off the field, the Bucs would be better served to cut their losses with #3. At worst, give Griffin an opportunity on a consistent basis for a month or so to see what you REALLY have there. If it doesn't pan out for #4, then look at other options.
It's really a shame that Jameis did not take full advantage of the opportunities the Bucs gave him. I really felt that this WAS the year, even with the suspension. I expected him to return with a fresh attitude and outlook. But he continues to make the same poor decisions on the field and, for a #1 pick in his 4th season, it should be deemed as totally unacceptable.
