The 7 greatest player revenge games in NFL historyNate Davis  USA Today December 10, 2015Rev_Zps5Qngp7Su.jpg(Photo: Jeff Hanisch, USA TODAY Sports)With movement of players and coaches so rampant in the modern NFL, there's generally some kind of reunion subplot playing out somewhere in the league on any given Sunday. But when "reunion" gives way to "revenge," the theater can be far more compelling, and we'll be watching closely when disenfranchised Bills RB LeSean McCoy faces his former team (and good buddy Chip Kelly) in Philadelphia this weekend. Here are our favorite "get your popcorn ready" games over the years:1. Brett Favre returns to Lambeau, Nov. 1, 2009This was actually the ol' gunslinger's second game against the Packers, for whom he played for 16 years until they took the opportunity to anoint Aaron Rodgers after Favre (temporarily) followed through on his annual threat to retire in 2008. With the usually docile Packers faithful sporting "Buck Frett" and "Fredo returns" signs, Favre fired off four TD passes to complete a sweep of his former team that season while playing for the hated Vikings.2. Joe Montana beats 49ers, Sept. 11, 1994It was the only game Joe Cool ever played against the franchise he resurrected and led to four Super Bowl titles. On a vintage Montana day, he passed for two TDs and no interceptions to vanquish his replacement, Steve Young, while riling a Niners fan base that largely never wanted to see him traded to the Chiefs.3. Jon Gruden beats Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, Jan. 26, 2003Less than a year after being shipped out of Oakland, Coach Chucky stuck it to a Silver & Black squad he knew intimately (flaws included) as his Buccaneers cruised 48-21 for their only Lombardi Trophy.4. Philadelphia shows T.O. no Brotherly Love, Oct. 8, 2006Terrell Owens' scorched earth policy was in full effect following his divorce from the Eagles following the 2005 season. In his first game back at Lincoln Financial Field, he didn't shut up but didn't put up, either (11 targets, 3 catches, 45 yards) – apparently, his popcorn wasn't ready – as the Eagles torched his Cowboys 38-24.5. Marcus Allen faces Raiders, Oct. 3, 1993His Hall-of-Fame career was nearly derailed by Raiders owner Al Davis, who relegated the Super Bowl XVIII MVP as a fullback at one point before he was liberated by the Chiefs. In 10 games against the Raiders, Allen was on the winning side nine times, including the first rematch when he scored a 4-yard TD.6. Deion Sanders goes back to Atlanta, Oct. 16, 1994In Prime Time's first game against the Falcons, who drafted him fifth overall in 1989, Sanders strutted and high-stepped down the Atlanta sideline with a 93-yard pick-six as the 49ers dominated 42-3. Afterward, Sanders crowed of the 2-year-old Georgia Dome, "I built this, and this is my house!"7. Keyshawn Johnson hosts Jets, Sept. 24, 2000Drafted No. 1 overall in 1996 by the Jets, who apparently didn't give him the damn ball enough to keep him happy, Johnson was swapped to the Bucs prior to the 2000 draft for two first-round selections. Five months later, he faced the Jets for the only time in his career and watched Wayne Chrebet – Johnson had said relative to his own stardom, his former teammate was akin to a "flashlight" – catch the game-winning TD with 52 seconds to go in a 21-17 New York win.Follow Nate Davis on Twitter @ByNateDavis.
