Licht is the reason this team sucks. When you need everything in the world to go perfect for you to win a game that’s no longer on the players and you can’t keep blaming the coaches.
The game was lost by the 2019 draft class today. SMB, Dean and White all made big mistakes and/or just got outclassed in giving up big plays.
This wouldn’t be such a big deal if previous draft classes weren’t littered with bust after bust of over drafted players.
Licht alternates between taking the wrong position/good player and right position/bad player.
People like to talk about how if one play goes our way we win these games, well our only two wins were the result of those big defensive plays going our way. Take those two plays away and we’re 0-8 right now. We built a team that needs ‘a break’ to win a game.
You can’t keep pointing at the players and blaming them. Who didn’t know that Donovan Smith wasn’t worth paying? That Dotson was declining at a quick pace? These are obvious areas of concern that Licht has botched.
The defensive secondary has been a crapfest his entire time here and every one of his draft picks have been mediocre at best, and he just keeps trying. Remember it’s not the players fault they suck, they either should never have been picked, or never counted on so early. None of them have performed that out of line (in a negative way) than what us armchair GMs expected.
Sure we may luck into a few wins when things all turn out perfectly or the other team manages to out-Buc us, but we will never have long term success flushing resources down the toilet like Licht continues to do.
