I see a lot of complaining about everything the Bucs seem to do but never any discussion on the positives. So what are the plusses to having Lovie Smith?1. Enables you to go after a player like Greg Hardy because Lovie would be a calming influence.2. Enables you to draft a guy who maybe has a high talent level but slips due to coachability. If the risk/reward is right, you could get a steal. 3. Creates a family enviroment. Rosters do change, as we have seen firsthand. We will hopefully be drafting the last pieces of the core of the team these next few years and have way more stability in the near future. That atmosphere is what Dungy brought but it does take time to establish this.4. People love to work with Lovie Smith. We scored Dirk Koetter? One of the best OC's in the business? Tampa Bay did? Wow! Leslie Frasier? Rock solid DC. 5. Lovie Smith has coached in a Superbowl and in fact took a team without a franchise QB there. Keep that in mind. This guy has a very good resume. He is no slouch but lets face it, we have sucked very badly for very long. You can't just turn around and say it is all his fault. Last year they were desperate to win asap in free agency and it backfired. I applaud the front office for admitting their mistakes and cutting loose all of theirs and Dominik's mistakes. I hope they acknowledge that building through the draft is how you build the core and use free agency to fill certain holes on the roster. Spend more resources on college scouting and less on pro scouting. Draft better and you wont need as many free agents. It will pay off in the end.
