Greg Cosell..... Sammy Watkins is the best WR prospect since A.J. Green, Julio JonesShould be first WR selected in upcoming draft. Aaron Wilson NFP.comFebruary 13, 2014, 03:42 PM EST.. NFL Films senior producer Greg Cosell watches a lot of football film. So when he says Sammy Watkins could be the best receiving prospect since A.J. Green and Julio Jones, it's something that will catch your attention. Speaking on 104.5 FM in Nashville, Cosell touted Watkins' abilities as a receiver and how he'll translate into the professional game. "There's no debate here," Cosell said. "I think Sammy Watkins, based on what I've seen, is the best wide receiver in this draft." Cosell went on to say Watkins is the best since that 2010 draft when Green and Jones were taken in the first round. Watkins is a different type of receiver than Green and Jones. He's just 6-1 and 205 pounds, compared to the tall frames the other two have. But Watkins is an explosive playmaker when he has the ball in his hands. If Cosell's assertion pans out, there will be a team that's very happy with selecting Watkins. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun.
All aboard for Watkins at 7.
Been on board for a while....
Between Clowney, Watkins, Robinson, Mack, Matthews or a top 2 QB falling who has a lot of trade value, Bucs can't really go wrong at #7.
While I think we have more pressing needs, if we can grab a DE in FA I would be all on board with Watkins at 7
I just don't think he will be there mainly after the combine...
Deandre Hopkins was much better than Watkins @ Clemson & will be the better NFL receiver as well. But Watkins could be above average too.
As long as they don't pick a QB they should get a nice player at 7. Oakland and Cleveland both have WR needs but competing needs at QB and Dline. With any luck, our Bugs get speed in space and a bona fide returner at 7. Good value too...

That would be nice.

da F**K you talking about? Hopkins is nowhere near Watkins.. even after getting double and triple team Wats still did his thing.. you obviously didn't watch any of clemsons games

Hopkins is a nice player but I never even heard of him until shortly before he was drafted. Watkins has been a star since he was a true freshman.

lol

There's a lot of talk that he is a 4.3 guy which he is not so I don't think the combine will raise he stock at all. Won't hurt him either tho.
Problem is if Watkins blows up the Combine as expected then I doubt he gets past the Raiders. Hell someone could trade up with Atlanta to take him right in front of the Bucs. I'm expecting only 1, possibly 2 QB to go in the top 5. None of this QB class is a Andrew Luck type prospect so taking them in the top 5 is going to be a gamble. The more I look at the top QB's in the Draft the more I feel teams are going to pass on them. If I had to do a top 5 Mock right now I'd go -Houston- DE- ClowneySt.Louis - OT Greg RobinsonJacksonville- OT Jake MatthewsCleveland- Johnny ManzielOakland- Sammy Watkins. My guess is the Bucs will concentrate on the OL and DE position in Free Agency. In order for Glennon to succeed he needs to have a wall of an OL in front of him. My best guess at this point is the Bucs trade back from #7 with a team that wants Bridgewater or Bortles and will select either Anthony Barr OLB/DE from UCLA or CJ Mosley LB from Alabama.
BUT BUT BUT we have to throw away our future to trade up to draft a QB that will surely bring us many winning seasons! ::)
