The two brothers have been working out this offseason with Mike Sullivan, who coached David on the New York Giants. In the eyes of the younger Carr, placing the two quarterbacks on the same roster can only help a franchise. “I wouldn’t want to step on anybody’s toes or anything like that,” Derek told FOX Sports’ Alex Marvez and Phil Savage on SiriusXM NFL Radio (via ProFootballTalk). “But I think to have David and I on the same team, you get two things. First, you get a great quarterback, as coach Sullivan can testify. He worked us out and said it himself. Secondly, you’re getting a veteran guy who this will be his 13th year in the NFL, who genuinely cares to help the rookie out. We’ll be doing it as our job, so there’s nothing more we’d care about than trying to make that team win. “There’s so [many] positive things about having us both on the same team, that I don’t know why somebody wouldn’t think about it. And the truth is there are teams thinking about it, because they’ve been letting us know about it.” David has not played in the NFL since filling in as a backup for the Giants in 2012, but he would be a valuable to any team looking for extra help coaching up his younger brother. If there is anything that can motivate a person to be the best that they can be, it is a little brotherly love.
