LVD, Vita Vea & this patchwork defense held Saquan in check for most of the game, contained, pressured & harassed Jalen Hurts all game.
Depth and accountability are this season’s theme so far.
Yes, the offense came out and put points in the board, chewed up a LOT of time & yardage - but without LVD & Vita - could have been a different story. They made the difference in this game.
Hopefully we get a little more healthy this week - probably not Kancey, or AWJ - but at the very least maybe Goedeke.
Will it be enough against Raheem’s boys?

No small task. Kudos to them.
Vea changed the outcome of multiple plays. Same with LVD. They were both all over the place this game. Britt is NOT a starting NFL LB so all the more credit to LVD. Was glad to hear Brady talk a bit about him.
Bucs didn't keep Barkley in check. He had 116 yards on 12 touches...
Imagine us playing a game without Wirfs, Evans and Godwin. That's what happened yesterday.

yeah no doubt, we didnt face the Eagles at their best
i was actually surprised how well our oline performed without Goedeke. particularly after the previous 2 games
in any event, it was a good win and i'm sure we all would have taken 3-1 through the first 4 games
now let's hope we dont have a 1-6 tailspin like last year. Important next quarter with 3 divisional games.

Yeah, I didn't hear Skule's name all game. I checked his play a few times, and he seemed to hold his own. More in depth observers may have evidence I'm wrong, but I thought he played a decent game yesterday.

FFPTs - 33.2, 17.6, 33.6. . . . 13.6
Point, his running was subpar (for him, this year) and his receiving about average. He is a special talent BUT:
Score: 33-16
They did keep him in check, as much as anyone can keep him in check
he had similar stats when they BARELY lost to the falcons so the absence of the other players certainly plays a big part, so certainly agree there BUT the Bucs implemented their game plan yesterday, imposed their will on the Eagles, so give credit where due.

I think this is at least partly the play calling. The Bucs definitely had the eagles off balance early with the heavy passing. The line did well, but Coen maybe gets a game ball.
Now, to change it all up again!

You're probably right, but he was helped (they all were) by the play calling and just by the way the game played out
Our first TD drive is one big run b y White but then all passing and it was to Evans., Palmer, Irving, Godwin, White (incomplete), Palmer. White, Godwin and then Evans.
Talk about spreading the ball around and the two explosive plays are a RUN by White and then a short pass to White, so they were not only spreading it around by getting. it out quickly. Mayfield playing very much with in himself.
The second drive is Otton, Godwin, Evans, Irving (run) and so on

well, every smart football person knows you take the gap blocking 59 yarder out BEFORE you calculate his average. I think thats called the Irving Principle.
:-)
(kidding aside, he's a great player they defended him very well. I think he starts no gain (punt) and then 3 yard gain (punt))
One ironic play, if anyone wants to go back and watch it. In the first series, White takes a short 3rd down dump off for 22 yards. The Eagles MLB is the starter over White. he cant get to White because of stutter steps. Either he's not sure if he shouldstay with a crossing Shepherd (I think) or he's just slow to diagnose the play

wow
Reasons why Bucs won because Red Board is brain dead.
1. Bucs passing game was highly effective. Play design, check. Pass pro, check. Mayfield played well, check. Receivers made plays, check.
2. Bucs pass defense was highly effective. Should be expected with the Eagles down their 2 starting WRs and Lane Johnson. Bucs covered well, pass rush was effective.
3. Eagles muffed a punt.
4. #2 and #3 allowed Bucs to control TOP
Denver defense is waaaaaaay better than the Eagles . I still can’t explain why Tampa allowed Nix to get off like that and I don’t think anyone can .
