It’s a bit of a naive answer, it assumes we’ve done well, and Coen would simply stay for the money, and watch as NFL HC opportunities passed by…

Everything would always appear to be on the table.

If, the offense proves itself. Scheme, and personnel.

But how about this situation -  we have a top 10 offense and make playoffs again; could they replace Bowles?

I mean, if we're not moving forward, we're moving backwards.

Obviously, lots of factors involved, but it's not out of the question.

Don't think so. 2025 was the target year and they have sort of moved that up to 2024, but I think Bowles will still have the job for 2025 unless the bottom falls out.  That just doesn't seem possible right now.  Going in we know the floor of this defense is average at worst, and things would have to go haywire on offense for this team to go into the tank.  We know the personnel on this defense is too good to be terrible unless we get injuries to several of them.

well, wanna bet?  lol. Badabing?

Chances of that scenario are so small but how about it:

top 10 offense

make playoffs

fire Bowles?

kidding of course, but for that to happen the Bucs would have to have LIMPED into the playoffs with MULTIPLE losses as a result of defense or coaching issues and maybe a locker room revolt underway lol. The Bucs team is the OPPOSITE of that, at least at the moment.

pretty impressive when you consider that they had a HC who gave “Brady his only losing season” and a QB who was actually beaten out by Trask.

Must’ve been that Ram-like offense Canales brought with him.

(I think I had them falling short of the division last season so who knows? That’s what makes every season interesting. )

So Badabing follows Vegas a bit, would he bet that Bowles would be fired under those circumstances?

Blah, blah, blah.

You and I (along with everyone else on here) knows he was a 10-point offensive performance from the Panthers away of being shot-canned the following Monday.

It’s not like the Bucs haven’t fired a HC after 3-straight playoff appearances.

Well, I laid out the ways it could actually happen (in the hypothetical scenario offered by Badabing), but I would think even you would say that is a LONGSHOT chance, right?

I am guessing you mean Dungy and if so that is an interesting parallel because -- even though Biggs had ZERO clue about this - the Bucs were very young last year so the Bucs probably have similar (not the same) views of Bowles as a developer of young talent.

I think that would cut both ways though in the Badabing scenario

So, you went from “no chance it happens” to a combination of “long shot” and “I layed out ways it could happen”.

I’ll wait a day or two and see how much more your view shifts.

Yes I then agreed that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.  Very controversial, but less difficult than trying to find out where you stand (or is is "us?"). I guess you don't agree it's a longshot?

What do you think the ODDS are that the Bucs make the playoffs with a TOP 10 offense but still fire Bowles?

did you disagree with the scenarios I provided?

Liam Coen

good call

From the Bucs website:

”The revamped offense, featuring an uptick in pre-snap shifts/motions and a diversified run scheme including mid-zone, wide-zone, tight-zone, duo and gap runs, has maximized the strengths of both the offensive line and running backs. From angle blocks and pulls in a gap scheme to the line moving laterally in outside zone and mid-zone, the horizontal flow plays into the athleticism of the Bucs' O-Line and puts added stress on opposing defenses. The running backs can take the course outside of the defense by running off the blocks or choose a vertical cut (outside) or cutback (mid).

The emphasis on the ground game and the revamped system has paid dividends. The scheme attacks space and forces second-level defenders to respect the threat of the offense getting to the perimeter, which then opens cutback lanes in the middle of the field for backs to take advantage of.

No idea, buddy.

All I said (multiple times) was that I didn't think it was out of the question

Aside from using crayons and napkins, I'm not sure how much more you'd like me to dumb that down for you.
