Just read an interesting article about how actor Russell Crowe re-energized a totally awful Australian soccer club/team. It got me to thinking about the possibilities that we Bucs' fans have to similarly awaken the beast here and revbive the team that won the super Bowl that magical year.Lately, I have mentioned here a couple of times my thoughts that we need a change of ownership. And this article about Russell Crowe ( a lifelong soccer fan) and his ability to start over and create a very competitive team.....made me examine my thoughts about the Glazers. Conclusion: Find an owner who has been a lifelong fan of football ( at a minimum) and who has football savvy. My only criticism of the Glazers judged by their actions is that is the one thing they totally lack. Otherwise, they've been good stewards, great businessmen, good community leaders and more....but they don't "get" football and that is why since John Gruden we have not had a winning coach. Aside: Lovie's jury is out. They dug into their pockets forfree agents years afater they turned Gruden down. At the wrong tine for the wrong coach. They almost ruined the career of the guy before Schiano ( cannot remember his name ). The poor guy was promoted out of his experience and set up for failure. Schiano? Again a good guy....wrong for the team...So even their best efforts sof opening up the bank for the team failed because they haven't any real down deep football savvy. This was a good business investment for them.So all you movers, shakers and mad men/women out their who can make things happen in Tampa and in football, go find us a leader is not only a good business man, but also has football personnel smarts and strategic genius to lead this team back to the future. 8) 8)Rest my case.
