Even more than Winston's character and Mariotas ability to adapt to the nfl, the hidden reason for so much heated debate on this topic in Tampa is we don't trust the bucs to get it right. And frankly the skepticism is warranted and makes this hidden reason the elephant in the room. This team has sucked at drafting over the past several years, Jon Gruden, Bruce Allen, mark Dominick, Raheem Morris and Greg schiano all guilty as charged. You can throw in all our free agent signing and coaching hire mistakes as well, making us question there competency even more. And Lovie smiths struggles with identifying the right qb are well documented. See Rex grossman and josh McCown. Let's face it. If we were New England or Green Bay we would probably be content with whichever qb we picked, or at least some of the anger would die down a bit because they have great draft track records. The Winston skeptics fear the bucs are overlooking his character concerns, and mariota skeptics fear the bucs aren't competent enough to help him succeed at the pro level. It doesn't help that pr is ramming one of the qbs down our throats. Honestly, after pr turned out to be so wrong about josh freeman and mark Dominick, and some other topics, this sort of thing makes me wonder if we should do the exact opposite of what they are saying. But I am way more concerned about what the bucs do and think than pr.But even after all the gaffes, this is our shot to right the ship. If we can get this pick right then a lot of other things can fall into place, including the fans having more confidence in the decision making ability of this team, which has been severely lacking for years now. If the bucs screw this up, well, we all know what that means. Just my two cents.
