The Bucs had a great downed punt at the 1 and their coverage of the last kickoff was good (23 yard line), but overall the poor kickoff coverage and returns really makes it tough on the Bucs.

Factoring out those two the Seahawks average staritng filed position was the 37 yard line. This is with good kicks that are landing inside the 5.

The league average right now is  about the 29 yard line, so the B ucs coverage was below average for sure.  BUT, the Bucs return game also had them averaging starts at the 25 yard line.  Thats a twelve yard trade off when compared to the Seahawks.

this is dated but just to show the impact:

"Since 2000, we see a 0.45 correlation between win percentage and average opponent starting field position. In fact, for every 3 yards closer to their opponent's end zone, a team will add 2 wins on average. "
