I'm a big fan of power run concepts. pull the guard, double the 3, kick out the end... off to the races.Hope we have a line capable of it.

Looks great! Now all we need are two guards who can play.

Great post indeed. We might need to find ourselves some guards9 with decent wheels though. Blown out knees and MRSA toes does not a pulling guard make.

I dont know if Nicks made much of a pulling guard anyway so he may be gone. This blocking scheme, combined with the fact that lots of Tedfords runs seem to be outside the tackle, should make the running game more consistent. Martin running more off the tackle will give him more options to hit the designed hole or cut in early or cut out. Its funny if you go look at old Blount highlights from when he was here, youll see every time we used a zone blocking scheme he had a massive run basically because it allows a lineman to get up to the LB level to block. I've always thought we've been running way too much straight north style run blocking while sending the RB up the middle. That makes it so your OL has to win just to get a decent hole but even if they do the LBs can easily fill the gap.

Let me say i'm very excited to see what Tedford can do in the NFL. I actually was thinking a month before the season ended, about what would happen if he was a coach in the NFL. I am a big Cal fan and watched him coach from his first year and the way his teams played really made me fallow them more. He utilizes the TE, does great at the run and isn't afraid to dink and dunk, but also throw the ball deep. Enjoyed watching Desean Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, Lynch, Asmougha, and JJ Arrington (bust in the NFL) play on his teams. Should be exciting to see what he can do for the Bucs.

Don't know anything about the dude, and will issue my opinion after 2014 season ends. I'm assuming he can't be any more lost than our last regime.

Thanks for the link, NDY.  That was a good introduction to how the team might run the ball and the type of personnel they'll need to do it.

Joseph probably will be asked to take a pay cut.  Not sure if Meredith is re-signed or Larsen to be honest.  Nicks probably doesn't seem like a good fit for this scheme.

LOL exactly what I have been saying...Some here think the QB can do it all though even as a Rookie...This will be an exciting time now in April and June...OBD

"The blocking scheme makes it easier for technically sound yet not as athletic players to find success."Did any of you read the article?

Yeah, it's looking like an overhaul of the O-line will be priority #1, even before DE since the team lacks young talent on the O-line and at least has some potential players on the D-line.
