I think Doug Martin could really breakout. Lightening his workload will increase his efficiency and he will become a real playmaker for us.

He wasn't that already?
Tim wright gonna break out be a top ten te. Gonna eat pinneapple in Hawaii next season.
That would be possible, if you could buy blocking skills at Walmart or where ever. Unfortunately, I think a good blocking TE is something you are, not something you can be taught. I like him though, and he has a place on the team going forward. But a good blocking TE is going to have to come from the draft or free agency, if they are so inclined.
Funny, I feel 100% the opposite of that. Blocking is as much about "want to" as anything else. The guy wasn't a TE for a long time and never "got it", he was a WR and is making a transition and is just learning how to block.
On the topic of breakouts:Gholston IMO is going to break out. Possibly Banks as a Ronde-esque playmaker. I think AC will prove to be a very good player as well, but I think he's already good so I'm not sure about calling him a "break out' guy. Barron is just going to be solid. I wouldn't call him a break out guy. Wright will definitely be a break-out player.
Really hoping Lovie and Hardy can light a fire under Mason Foster. Would be nice to see him step his game up.
I don't blame Mase. He was not used properly, like a lot of last years players, with whats his name as head coach. When players are requesting meetings with the HC to say they are not being used properly, I am willing to give Mase the benefit of the doubt. I don't ever recall him being accused of being a slacker. But we will see. If Lovie can't get the best out of him, then there is a problem.

He was a guy who got fed a ton of touches.
I'd also add Glennon as a candidate if he gets a shot at it. He was put in a horrible position last year and did better than anyone has any logical reason to have expected. Put in a better spot with a scheme that doesn't seem deliberately designed to ignore his strengths and force him to his weaknesses and I think he'll surprise a lot of people.

I think that is part of the problem, he is a coverted WR. A good blocking TE wants to get in there and mix it up every play. He is more of a finesse guy with great hands. And there is nothing wrong with that. Many great TE's have made a living doing that. But, if Tedford wants a beast at TE with blocking skills, I think he needs to look elsewhere.Who knows. A lot can happen. Say Mike Wil self destructs. They could move Wright back to WR, and restock the TE position.
Jonathan Banks IMO. He showed flashes late last season. year two will be his breakout season.

Not exactly. His career thus far consists of a good 2012 and a subpar 2013. He was anything but a playmaker last season. And 2012 he had 4-5 great games and the rest meh.
BarronWrightGholstonMy picks.

If you want a beast blocking at TE, then you aren't getting a receiver at TE. They are two different players. The top receiving TEs aren't great blockers. They just aren't glaring liabilities.

Agree on having high hopes for both Wright and Gholston... hoping for Spence as well... just the glutton in me....

Agree. And it doesn't have to be either / or, is my point. Wright is a good receiving TE, now get a good blocking TE somewhere this offseason. They will carry 2 or 3 TE's on the final 53.

can maneieri be that 2nd TE?
My vote goes to Adrian Clayborn. A full season removed from blowing up his knee and in a scheme that will let him do his thing.
