This season is over. You cannot win in the NFL with horrible defense and special Teams. Not to mention the playoffs. So, I think it's time to clean house. Heck, If I were the glazers right now, I would fire Bowles and make Grizz Interim head coach. Bowles and the ST coach would be FIRED Today if it were up to me. So, thinking of replacements, I can think of no one better than Gruden to right the ship. He's available, He's good, and he lives in Tampa. Now that he's back in the Glazers good graces, I say why not? We just cannot give him "Full Control", like we did last time. He should allow Licht to handle the draft cause he can't draft worth a crap. Anyway, thoughts?
Revenge of Chucky?
2002, Part Deux?
well, from a public relations perspective and trying to attract future head coaches, they will not fire Bowles mid year here...additionally his assistant coaches suck as well so it's not like we would have wanted to try out a Coen as an example to see if he has what it takes. We know his assistants suck and need to go with him.
so let him ride out these next 4 games to a 9-8 record at best and then after a "hopefully" playoff ass kicking, you let him go in January.
As for Gruden. He is the man but i think he's better off taking selfies with the 2002 team on X then i want to see him on the sidelines. I think the game may have passed him by and we need somebody who is offensive minded and currently in the NFL
so who are the options
1. Bill Belichick - Not offensive mind, ego manic, who comes with sideshow piece of ass girlfriend. He would also want control of picking players and much like Gruden, has shown he isn't really good at that left unchecked. Pass.
2. John Harbaugh - Would be absolutely shocked if Baltimore didn't move on from him. They'd have to somehow make the playoffs and win a few games otherwise. He was special teams coach prior to becoming head coach but if he brings Todd Monken with him, maybe i could be open to this combo.
3. Mike McCarthy - i mean, doesn't appear to be able to win in the playoffs in the last 15 years. offensive minded though.
4. Doug Pederson - offensive minded. Won one in the last decade. I think there's better out there.
5. Mike Tomlin - if Pittsburgh gets trounced in first round again, do they make a move? I dont know. Defensive minded, previous ties to Tampa. Can't say i'd be opposed but would really prefer offensive minded.
6. Sean McDermott- one would think the Bills needs to make Superbowl for him to retain his job - particularly in a year where the Chiefs don't make the playoffs. It's now or never. But again, defensive minded guy.
then if we dont want to go with previous HC, some new guys
7. Klint Kubiak - Seattles OC
8. Joe Brady - Buffalo OC
Grizz can't tie his shoes... How would he run an entire team?
There's no way to fire Bowles mid season because he occupies two roles... He's made himself necessary even when he's atrocious...
I want him gone ASAP but there's not a pathway, sadly.
If they fired Bowles now (not happening) the season would truly be over because all of the players would pack it in.

they are in first place in their shitty ass division, they aint firing him now with 4 games to go
Ain't nobody happy after yesterday but we need to be reasonable. Fire his ass in January if it's the same shit which it's looking worse than same shit
Anyone that thinks the Glazers are firing a coach mid season cannot have been a fan of this team back to the Dungy days. That’s not their style.
as for Gruden, I’d be on board with that. A change is necessary, a big one. It’s a similar situation he came into back in 2001.

He’s inheriting one of greatest defenses in modern NFL history?
The situations couldn’t be any more different.
Hard pass on overrated Gruden.
Have you all watched his youtube channel? Grudens Grinders? I assure you, the game hasn't passed him by. @BadabingBucs, I would be fine with Belicheck, but wouldn't mind Harbaugh or Tomlin. I would just like to get a gem like Coen and I was mad we didn't give him the job last year. Bowles is a 50% win coach and that's all he will ever be. This team lacks fundamentals such as tackling etc. We just need to get someone that can bring in good coaches and work on fundamentals. Seems this happens EVERY year for the Bowles era. Just getting tired of same ole same ole. The last time this defense was good was the Superbowl. Also, remember that year, we limped into the wild card of the playoffs. If this defense was that good we would've finished that season better.

I meant more about teams that couldn’t get over the hump. We’ve made the playoffs severap years in a row, with early exits.

yes thats an apt comparison of similarity. Bowles as sort of the Dungy model

difference being of course the Bucs had a hall of fame level defense under Dungy and so the offensive "guru" came in with one side of the ball of us doing very well.
Fast forward to this team where we don't do any side of the ball very well. We did have a dynamite offense in 2024 but it looks like with play calling, injuries, potential Mayfield regression, and that is no longer the case.
Hopefully we show something these last 4 games because if it's more of the same, we might not even be an attractive opportunity.

And, again, he was carried by Monte and a generational defense when he was here.
He doesn’t have that luxury this time around.
In his 11 seasons as a HC for us and Vegas, he fielded ONE offense in the Top-10 (and that’s his supposed specialty).
Let’s get younger and more offensive-minded at HC.

yeah im a gruden fan but seeing him fail post 2002 season then again with the Raiders in his return; yeah don't want him making personnel decisions on this team
i prefer to appreciate him for the 2002 season and like i said, watch him post selfies with Bucs players on X. That's where he needs to be.
He'd come in and trade AWJ and Bucky Irving immediately then draft a long snapper in the first round. like nah, i'm good
guy had ass records with the Raiders in his 3.5 years back, they made the playoffs i think in his resignation year.
We be just as mediocre with Gruden that we are on with Bowles. Would rather have an offensive guy from this century or a guy that has had regular success with their own OC coming in from this century.
