What's really crazy about this draft is we could see the Vikes trade up to #2 and see 5 QBs go 1-5. The top 5 has 4 teams that need a QB and one team that will happily [is]rape trade down with the suckerteam that gives them the best offer. I really have a hard time seeing us trade up. Between lack of ammo, and not being as desperate as a team like the Vikes, just damn hard to see it happening.

This would be awesome.
Why use a 1st on Clowney when we could just sign Allen, Tuck, or Hardey in free agency?
Because you don't know if they can sign them . What if we miss out on all of them due to any number of possible factors ?
Well....free agency is two months before the draft.....so I think we'll know for sure by then if we managed to sign one of the many great DEs in free agency.
...and if we don't , I assume you'll get off this , " Let's reach for a mediocre QB prospect at all costs " kick ??
I don't wanna reach for a mediocre QB....so I don't know what you are talking about and therefore can't promise you anything.
I personally agree that there's really not realistic way the Bucs can trade up for a QB and that the top 3 QBs will probably be gone before we pick. I still think there's an outside shot we could draft one at 7, but at least one team (Hou, Jax, Cle or any team that trades up with the Rams) would have to not draft a QB. Bottom line about trading up...unless the Rams are willing to take much less, we won't be trading up. Draft value chart wise, we would have to trade our 1st, 2nd, 4th, and a 2nd next year. The Rams have experience with trading out of the #2 spot. They did that for RGIII. The Redskins had the #6 pick and traded that along with their 2013 and 2014 1st round picks and an extra 2nd round pick. There's no way they are going to settle for what I mentioned earlier. They know some team is going to fall in love with a QB and want to jump the Jags and the Browns. I am betting someone will trade their 1st round pick and at least a 1st round pick next year. There's no way I'd be willing to do that.As for what happens if we stay? I just can't see Hou, Jax, Cle or any possible team that trades up with the Rams passing on a QB...that's a 4 QB needy teams and 3 QBs. It's possible, but we'd have to have a couple teams pass on a QB for one to slip to us at 7.

Perfect. So it increases the chances that we land Watkins.

Outside of Bridgewater there are no true elite QB prospects in this draft , and some would even argue he isnt.....so , yes , this is exactly what you are doing .Wanting to reach and then cross your fingers the gamble works.

I'm supposed to take your opinion as law? Aren't you the one that was foaming at the mouth to trade up and take Trent Richardson? I think I'll just go with my gut on who is and isn't worth a top 5 pick.
If you want to compare who was wrong more often about the draft we can do that. LOL. Your "gut" is an ongoing joke on this board. Are you telling us now that Bortles is an elite prospect ? Andrew Luck type of low-bust potential ? Wrong. He's been built up by people like you who are searching in desperation. Lol.

I dont think he is elite, but I think he will be a Big Ben type of QB in the NFL. Probably not enough to completely carry a team, but will be in the upper half of QBs in the league.
Only way we get a QB in this draft is if we sign a couple top FA CBs, trade Revis to the Raiders for the 5th overall pick, and then trade the 5th and 7th pick to Houston or the Rams for their 1st and 3rd.Revis + Glennon + whoever we take with the 7th pick or Verner + Shields + Manziel, Bridgewater, or Bortles + a 3rd round pickWhich would you do? I guess it depends how you feel about Glennon and these QB prospects. I know what I'd do.
This is a completely unrealistic scenario

I have a great overall record. We can compare anytime you want. Only you and a few of your retarded friends think I'm horrible because Chad Spann didn't turn out great....even though I wanted him in the middle or late part of the draft. Your dumb ass was ready to trade the farm to move up and take Richardson top 5. Apples and oranges buddy. As far as Bortles goes, I think he has just as good a chance as Bridgewater of being a great QB. Maybe better. No prospect is a sure thing, but he has all the intangibles that say he is a good bet and worth taking. The mainstream has been slow to come around, but they have. The vast majority see him as a top 5 pick now.....so apparently it is now you who thinks he knows better than the experts.

I've always said that you get far too much grief for Spann and not nearly enough for your comparisons of Brandon Graham to Freeney.(I kid. Mostly.)

Hey I'll take all of that ridicule. I would have taken Graham 10 out of 10 times. I was so sure he was going to be great. Still don't understand what happen with that kid.
Lol acacius....and he would have drafted Steadman Bailey in the 2ND round and Tyler Wilson in the 3rd.Yeah Jdud track record is awesome. LOL
