you pick the best pocket passer available lol.Picking a qb at the top is 50/50 at best anyways......Someone on the radio said something I agree with.. And that is how Winston loves winning as much if not more than money. We need his presence in the locker room, we need the on the field leadership and ability to win in the 4th quarter. I think about what he could do for a guy like ASJ, who also plays with a certain fire. And Evans would have the perfect QB throwing to him.I hate his eating habits tho, today on ESPN he said "I love to eat..." when asked why his weight is constantly a question. Bro I don't want to hear about how much you like to stuff your face....I like Mariota but why pick him over a guy who already understands a pro offense, and has an enormous amount of success as a pocket passer. This is the NFL, played by extremely powerful men who are driven by actions ON THE FIELD. He roars like a lion (seriously) with a heart that is always in the game and his teammates buy into his passion for winning. Once our offense gets Winston involved just watch how the team will form an identity that we've been missing. Mariota is not a leader of men like Winston, and in football it matters when you have a guy with confidence vs a guy who gets a tad nervous about huddling. The intangibles you get from Winston is amazing, he could rally the guys on this offense...like it or not we need him. It's a roll of the dice with whoever it is... a lot of things about Winston to dislike, but the guy does remind you of Big Ben if he can just grow into his craft... and that he will, he's only 21. His off the field stuff is unfortunate, but it's not a deal breaker. Why? Because he's a damn good pocket passer along with an extremely high football IQ. Not to mention his toughness because of his size, but he can also scramble with elusiveness. His grittiness is my favorite thing about him, he's the punisher of QB's. This is much different than Manziel who I wanted no part of... simply because he was a midget who doesn't get what it means to be a pocket passer. If you pass on someone like Winston you are simply not doing everything you can to win in the NFL. Once you get emotional about it that's when you stray from the basic principles of what wins Super Bowls. This league has a very simple formula. You don't have to like him, but the guy will lead your offense and win you a lot of games from the pocket. Get Winston even with all the baggage, because we all know what it looks like when you don't have a legit passer. QB's with his talent doesn't grow on trees sadly... and he can still be molded into a far better passer than he already is, you almost have to pick him and just pray it works out.
