Trask was a 2nd round pick. Name a 2nd round QB who never got on the field on a four-year contract with the same team. And it wasn't because he washed out. He did OK in preseason action. It was because he was behind Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield, two very good QBs who didn't miss a start. Trask did OK in preseason action as well. I don't think you can have a list of players in his similar situation. Which QB has been a high draft pick and spent four years behind QBs who never missed a start? Never was traded or cut. Give me that list.Well even five mil would have been almost double what he got. Rudolph was horrible and got 2 years at $4 mil per.
Mason Rudolph has 686 career attempts. Kyle Trask has 11 career attempts.
Give me the list of Free Agent NFL QB's that signed for $5M per year with 11 career attempts.
I'm assuming your lack of response is the result of you not being able to find any examples. There is a reason for that.
Were you not aware that Trask had barely played when you said he would get $5M-$10M per year? That wasn't new information, yet you still made claim. That's on you, not anyone else.
You don't have to assume anything. I just gave you my answer above. There probably aren't any examples, but there also aren't any examples I can think of of 2nd round pick QBs who through no fault of their own didn't get a chance to play for four years. I didn't think that was a complicated explanation.Trask was a 2nd round pick. Name a 2nd round QB who never got on the field on a four-year contract with the same team. Other teams didn't sign him, so congratulations for pointing out the obvious.

drafting a QB there was stupid. Yeah we had a QB that didnt have much time left but given how the team was constructed, and still wanting to be completive post his tenure; it didnt make sense. Our QB before Brady was #1 overall pick. The QB after Brady was #1 overall pick.
Trask is setting himself up nicely for the Ryan Griffin role - i.e. no playing time, knows the lockeroom and playbook, and can be either the #2 or #3 for years to come!
the other 2 options were Davis Mills and Kellen Mond.
Mond was on 4 teams already - Vikings, Browns, Colts, and aints. He is out of the NFL and is playing for the San Antonio Brahmas
Davis Mills was the smart pick (at the time, and now) if we were going to draft a QB. So far having the better NFL career with 35 career touchdown passes. He has been with the Texans since he was drafted and earned an extension.
as an example, if Mills was the pick, he wouldnt have gotten the playing time in 2021 or 2022 but may have set up nicely to actually take the starting job in 2023. There is no way of knowing but given his body of work, the Bucs botched the selection, not just because of it being a position not set up for the running it back but also there was a better guy available clearly at the time of the draft.

You've now confirmed you don't have any examples. Many thanks. And again, it's not really my fault that you didn't understand your $5M-$10M valuation was pretty foolish.
So, what did we learn today?
Trask even came with a perk
Trask will be paid $2,787,000 this year, but the Bucs will only be charged $1,337,500 on the salary cap as his deal is being executed as a four-year player qualifying contract.
