This might not be a superbowl roster but it's far from a 4-12 roster as far as talent goes. This team needs good/solid coaching. More talent isn't going to help that much until we get better coaching.
Haynesworth offer then signing 2 years later.
Lol, everyone would have been doing cartwheels if we had singed Haynesworth at the time of the "offer." Man, that is some crazy revisionist crap. Dom is to blame for an "offer" to the Best DT in football at the time?
Nope. There were a decent percentage of us who were 100% against Haynesworth because we knew he was just about the money.
100% truth.

I wasn't against signing Haynesworth in 2009 and still think in an alternate reality not playing for Shanahan that Haynesworth could have been good for a few more years, but there were definitely people on here against signing him at all costs.
I wasn't against signing Haynesworth in 2009 and still think in an alternate reality not playing for Shanahan that Haynesworth could have been good for a few more years,
"His goal was to come here, make a large signing bonus, and then get released and not have to do any of the work. He didn’t care about the back end of that contract, he didn’t care about making all of that money. His idea was, you paid me for what I did in the past, and my goal is to be released as soon as possible and basically take $33 million from you for absolutely nothing. His goal from the get-go was to take that money. He also indicated to many players on the team that his new goal was to get released as soon as possible, sign another maybe $10, 12 million contract — that’s verbatim — go somewhere, play for a year and probably get released, and keep that money too. I mean, if it was a player on this team currently, I would not discuss this on the air. But being the player that he was, and the guy that he was around here, this was open [knowledge] among many players in this locker room: that his goal was basically to take money. It was about a terrible decision to bring in an awful human being into an organization that he’s not going to participate in. You should know that. You should be aware of that.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/wp/2013/10/28/chris-cooley-calls-albert-haynesworth-an-awful-human-being/

Cooley in 2013 . . . good point . . because everyone disputes NOW that Haynesworth is a scumbag .. . . which is why you're criticizing Dom for NOT signing him back in . . . 2009 . . . . . check
I loathe the Skins as intensely as is possible for a non-Cowboy fan, but have to agree with JC. This was more about Haynesworth showing his true colors. Absent hiring Chuck Smith, I don't see how any other team would have been able to get him to care.
- Fans think big names means big wins- Fans want big names- Dominik brings in big names at the expense of huge contracts and bad trades- Fans are happy- Dominik has whiffed on many draft picks and contracts. Building a collection of talent rather than a roster. - Fans blame coaches, how can a team with big names lose?
Outside of Vincent Jackson and Darelle Revis, What big names are you talking about? Every GM has whiffed on players and given bad contracts. Fact is Dominik has built a Cap that can used every year and not be maxed out every year like the likes of Dallas and Washington. When Dominik took over for Bruce Allen the cap was in such bad shape it took 2-3 years to straighten out. That mindset has allowed the Bucs to go out an acquire talent the past 3 years. With the Bucs nearing a 17-20 million surplus going into this off season the Bucs should be able to add more pieces to an already loaded table.
You're wrong. Dominik inherited a huge amount of cap space from Bruce Allen. That is why he was able to blow almost 20 million dollars on Michael Clayton and Antonio Bryant right off the bat. Not mention he gave Winslow the biggest contract for a tight end in history while overpaying for Derek Ward, Byron Leftwich, Angelo Crowell, Luck McCown, Mike Nugent and he overpaid on Freeman's rookie contract. All the overpaying that Dominik has done the past three years is going to come back and bite the Bucs years from now.Gerald McCoy is nearing an extension and David is a year away from an extension. David's agent will see the ridiculous contract that Dominik gave Quincy Black and say if you gave that guy all that money you need to pay my guy double because he's double the player that Black is.Plus the Bucs are going to have to pay a quarterback one of these days. You watch, the Bucs cap space is not going to be what it was.
Defenses of Dom depend on making shit up, blaming Gruden/Allen, blaming coaches, blaming the Glazers, and giving him credit for everything good.It wasn't his fault he didn't sign any FAs (even though he did but that is conveniently ignored) it was the Glazers fault for not spending. But the Glazers are still bad/cheap owners and Dom did a great job signing VJax etc. it's not his fault that Bennett is in SEA, it was Schiano, but Dom did a great job finding Gholston in the draft (or whoever).Dom magically gets credit for things that are generally considered "GM things" even when he is clearly not the driving force, but magically escapes blame for any "GM things" that don't work out even when he clearly is the driving force.

Exactly. Because he's in bed with the media they spin everything so he doesn't get any blame. But in four of his five seasons the team he put together has been a loser.
Ok. Let me ask you this Marky Mark supporters. If we fired him today how many other teams would be lining up to hire him as GM? You can ask the same question for Schiano. That right there tell me all you need to know dawg. Some of you all be treating trash like treasure man. I aint saying the dude hasn't done some good things or he aint a good guy. But he aint good enough to be our GM. That's what I be saying.
Outside of Vincent Jackson and Darelle Revis, What big names are you talking about?
Kellen Winslow, Dashon Goldson, Carl Nicks (which is now an a disaster of a contract), Derrick Ward, Haynesworth offer then signing 2 years later.

What bad trade has Dominik made?
Kellen Winslow. Revis is a bad trade based on the fact we gave up a #1 and #3 for the ability to get him in 2013 instead of waiting for him to be a UFA in 2014. Don't expect you to grasp that idea though.
So Much hate. So little to back up. You Revis rationale is quite idiotic. Giving up a 1st was a no brainer because no player we were going to draft was going to be at the talent level of Darelle. If the Bucs wait a year then any team with the cap space and the want would have been in the running for his services. So the added 3rd round pick given up was nominal to secure his services. Winslow was a good trade. No way the Bucs go 10-6 in 2010 without him. Maybe the Bucs get a good TE with that 2nd round selection, maybe not. We all know the draft is a crap shoot. Name me 1 TE that you would have taken in the 2nd round over Winslow's talent level at the time? C'mon man. Goldson signing has added toughness that hasn't been around in our Secondary since John Lynch left. It's also replaced an aging and slow Ronde Barber, thus allowing Mark Barron to play the slot Safety position. A position that Barron has excelled in this season. As for Nicks, when you sign a player in Free Agency you can't predict injury. And who could predict the whole insane MRSA saga. When Nicks is healthy he's a premier G in this league. Everyone lauded his signing. It's always easy to look back and criticize but the last I checked NO GM in the NFL has a crystal ball. Quit your lame arguments already.

Dominik gets hired within a month if the Bucs fire him IMO. He's to good of a money manager not to. My guess is he lands in Houston. As for Schiano? He lands somewhere back in college where he belongs.

Dominik is far from perfect. Name me one GM in the NFL that is and I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. The fact is that in the past 3 years Mark Dominik has had more hits than misses. We here don't know all the inner working of an NFL Franchise. Bennett is gone for a reason and only the professionals know why he isn't here. Fans wanted him back but did Bennett really want to play for Schiano? We will never know.
So Much hate. So little to back up.
28-50.

You still do not understand. We could have Revis plus a our 2013 #1 and 2014 #3 if we had just waited till March. To "secure his services" all we had to do was be the highest bidder. His services haven't gotten us anything. #1 and #3, $16M to be 4-10. Brilliant move. Really.
C'mon man.
Oh wow how fortunate we were to give up a #2 and #5 and $20M for a magical 3rd place season. So now we're up to a #1, #2, #3 and #5 and $36M. And the next draft we took Price and Benn before Gronkowski and Graham, because we had just pumped picks into Winslow. The next year we dumped two #4s into Stocker.
Goldson signing has added toughness that hasn't been around in our Secondary since John Lynch left. It's also replaced an aging and slow Ronde Barber, thus allowing Mark Barron to play the slot Safety position. A position that Barron has excelled in this season.
I like the Goldson signing. You just asked me what other big names Dominik signed.

Again, you asked what big names Dominik signed.
