You scared me for a second. I thought this thread would be about our new defensive coordinator.
lol i was scared as hell too..thinking that we had hired Rich Mckay again
If the Bucs take a QB then I think it's going to be in the 2nd round. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bucs don't trade back. There is really only one can't miss QB in this draft and that's Teddy Bridgewater. Maniziel comes with the party boy persona. Is he the next Brett Farve or the next Ryan Leaf? Best guess he's something in between. We don't know yet if Blake Bortles or Brett Hundley are even going to declare. That leaves Derek Carr, AJ McCarron and Zach Mettenberger as the next tier QB in the draft. The later 2 both have late season injuries worries. If your the Bucs you have some homework to do. Jeff Tedford should have a working knowledge of Derek Carr and Brett Hundley coming from Cal. Don't discount that connection. So the Question is do you stick with Glennon as your starter and sign/Trade for a QB and add depth at the position in the draft. Or do you draft a QB high and let Glennon and the draftee duke it out in the off season. Either way it's going to be fun to watch what happens the next couple of months leading up to the Draft.
TB, JFF, Bortles, Clowney, Barr, Matthews, Watkins, Mack, trade down for TE, CB, or Mosely. There are lot of scenarios that I could be talked into. About the only players I don't want are Carr, Hundley, Lewan, or the Alabama OT.
When we don't take a QB in round one. Just trying to get you armchair GMs ready in advance.
Says the guy with the Josh Freeman avatar.
If Glennon was taken off the Bucs roster and put in the draft pool he would be taken in the top half of the 1st round and probably top 2.
with what we know today - yeah, I see a top fifteen pick.
First round QBs do not equate to instant success. That is a historical fact.
People seem to ignore this fact. They have an idea of what a 1st round QB will do and it's very often untrue. Even more the reason why I think we build the team and give Glennon another year. If he bombs, we'll be in position for Jameson next year.
All I want for Xmas is 4 new Olinemen. Without upgrading the line, whoever is back there next year is gonna get killed and there will be no running lanes to speak of.

Wasn't that a big issue in Chicago during Lovie's tenure? Maybe it was just injuries.
Offensive Takle is not a sexy pick but if Jake Mathews or Taylor Lewan are there when the Bucs pick then I think you have to pull the trigger. Penn in all likelihood will be cut or asked to renegotiate his contract. Nicks is a injury question mark, Zuttah is a better Guard than a Center. Joseph and Dotson are our only sure things on the roster right now along the OL.

Nicks just needs to go.Time to cut our losses.

Nope. In college you have to WIN games. He would still go in the third.

It was injuries, but he still managed to pull out a 10-6 record in his final year.

A mixed bag for sure.
+1. This thread is for all those clamoring for JFF. I said in another thread, last time we saw a player this fantastic in CFB was Tebow. We all know how that turned out.
if you're seriously comparing tebow and manziel, it shows you really don't have a clue.
