The KKK was the terrorist wing of the democrat party. It remained aligned with them. In fact, Democrat Senate Majority Leader, Robert Byrd, was an exalted cyclops in the KKK…PS - the KKK were linked to the Democrat party.

Those SOUTHERN democrats (DIXIECRATS) are long time GOP - SINCE THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT - and a cornerstone of the CURRENT Trump base.
