The NFL felt it necessary to honor him because they know some fans love him... So again, money.
Nah, that's woke. politics in sports is woke!
The wrong kind of politics in sports is . . woke. Charlie Kirk. . . no problem
Keep politics out of sports (I once heard because a black player peacefully took a knee to protest police brutality).
But Kirk got shot so we gotta bring that into the NFL
Its an obvious double standard because its all CONTRIVED.
The people who are selling and audience for votes or click or whatever that Corp X is woke for bringing "Floyd" politics into football cant then say do NOT bring politics into football for "Kirk" because it is the same audience they are pandering to with the woke stuff and that audience is MINUS Floyd, but PLUS Kirk.
"Our children are being 'indoctrinated' in schools and that is WRONG . . . local parent should control their kids education!
"here is our new mandated, statewide school program based on conservative- values"
The PRINCIPLE ESPOUSED (politics in sports is bad, politics in education is bad) is always transparently false, just an argument for one side's views over an others.
This is why you get crazy, tortured stuff said after the fact like the NFL is just the home office . .
he was not racist, he followed the teachings of Christ and believed in them and thus informed and underpinned his worldview and beliefs.
You do realize this is a complete load of shit. He was a right wing Christian nationalist who couldn’t have been further from the true teachings of Christ if he was buddies with Anton Levee
Let’s stop painting him as a martyr because he absolutely wasn’t.
Good thing we are in the nfc south
still the class of it!
And play Carolina twice still.
yeah i was looking at the remaining schedules and i'd say it's very likely we end up 11-6 and Carolina 8-9; which factors in a split.
if we somehow lose to the Falcons on Thursday night, prime time, with the ghost of Kirk Cousins, still have us winning by 2 games at 10-7.
ultimately a disappointment either way with the 5-1 start but as others have stated, 11 wins would show advancement in record despite having brutal amount of injuries to key players.

my take:
George Floyd death was politicized during an election year to stir up chaos. And similar to Kaepernicks knee..some of us just didn't understand the narrative.
People shot to death by Police (source: statista.com; for the variance in figures below, assume Hispanic, other, or unknown.)
2017 - 981 people, 458 white, 222 black
2018 - 983 people, 459 white, 228 black
2019 - 999 people, 424 white, 251 black
2020 - 1,020 people, 459 white, 243 black
2021 - 1,048 people, 446 white, 233 black
2022 - 1,097 people, 389 White, 225 black
2023 - 1,164 people, 499 white, 249 black
2024 - 1,173 people, 385 white, 248 black
so while i know the percentage of blacks in this country is much less than whites, the homicide rate by race shows a similar correlation (source: statista.com)
2023 murder offenders - 8,842 white, 6,405 black, 5,796 unknown, 461 other.
Look no further than Tyreek Hill getting pulled over last year and how he acted. Is that how you act when you get pulled over by a police officer? You have to remember, an officer is dealing with bullshit/domestic disputes all day, and needs to protect themselves, so for somebody getting pulled over, the typical person (white, black, etc) has their driver licenses, insurance ,registration, ready to go. And for some bizarre reason, others who end up as statistics above, don't do that. Often times, probably have a bad record or something else fishy going on. So you see, by the numbers above, that's why individuals took issue with the Kaepernick knee...because quite frankly, didn't see a problem and only setting race relations back unwarrantedly.
and for George Floyd. i suppose if we want to assume Charlie Kirk is a piece of shit, what the hell does that make this guy? holy hell. Is there a lower term for piece of shit? Maybe diarrhea poo?
if you watch the video, Floyd couldn't breath in the back of the car, so Chauvin who i am sure wishes he had that decision back, let's him out of the car. Chauvin, 5'9 versus George Floyd, 6'4 223 lbs, needed a way to contain him. Now honestly, what Chauvin did was not protocol and borderline retarded, but did he really mean to kill him? Who knows but many would surmise that Chauvin was a sacrificial lamb.
fast forward to Kirk, and i didnt really listen to the guy or know much about him prior to his death. Those on the right expecting this incident to bring this together, was a bit insane. Like really? in the internet world, NOTHING will bring democrats and republicans together. Only reason maybe 911 did was because internet was in its infancy stage. If that happened in 2020, well, you saw it with COVID...half the country blaming the country where it originated from, in a lab due to gain of function research, while the other half calling that half racist, then borderline being racist to Asian people for assuming they were dirty in wet markets, and blaming the president.
My biggest take away is this
George Floyd, who was an individual with a criminal history, was murdered by a police officer....but as you see above, happens like 3 times a day; the democrats protested and rioted and burned shit down....not because they cared about George Floyd (maybe black people did) but the white liberal just wanted chaos during an election year.
Looking at Charlie Kirk, who was an individual who was a political activist, and was murdered for his thoughts. No protest or riots but rather candle light vigils.
notice how the two sides acted differently
and what bothered most conservatives or atleast myself, was that i wasn't too far off from Kirk. i didnt think he was extreme but rather shared alot of views on the right. I am not religious like Kirk ...but most of what he said...quite frankly aligned with those on the right; so for those making fun of it and saying he deserved it, well...you can imagine, you are saying the same thing about me or anyone else on the right. Dangerous and hateful behavior.
Sure if this happened to AOC or somebody, you'd have some on the right being distasteful, but i dont know if it would have been as rampant. one thing is for sure....we'd still be having protest today 2 months later.
He didn’t pick on the weak, he simply left an open mic and let you present your case.
he was not racist,
Who knows if he was a racist or a sexist or a homophobe or any of the many other things you could call anyone, but what everyone can can see for themselves (because its all online, as you say) is that he PANDERED to any audience that is/was perpetually flirting with racism, sexism etc.
And it was part of an INTENTIONAL "us versus them" audience building strategy. So, where you describe his campus tours as sort of a friendly open mic, its purpose was actually to create VIDEO content of the thing that same audience seems to love the most, which is "owning the libs." Its the #1 search for Kirk. Its all over turning point USA stuff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab6T-gFdGOU
And, as I suggested to Kermit . . there are real, undeniable examples of his intentional "us versus them" approach right up to days before his murder
Zero quarrel with the underlying Christian beliefs.
Zero. But his "ministry" was not spreading Christian values, it was "owning the libs" and I can prove that easily, but more importantly its why someone like Fire will see him as the opposite of how you see him. THAT IS/WAS THE POINT. Its the result olf an INTENTION, not just an accident or a political difference. He "preached" that someone like Fire was INFERIOR to someone like you.
Thats not Jesus, thats Rush Limbaugh or Trump.
