Biggest flaw of that argument is that a slight improvement in coaching would yield a higher return.
You can't make the argument the Bucs lack talent but in the same breathe argue the Bucs should be trading away an All Pro TE like Brate and cutting a Pro Bowl caliber WR like DJax.
The thinking behind discarding such players is that the Bucs do have talent at TE and WR which makes both Brate and Djax luxuries but not necessarily needed.
The 2018 Bucs offense finished with 8 players with 20 catches or more. And if you want to be more precise the 2018 Bucs had 7 players with 30 catches or more.
It is obvious the defense needs some young talent infusion on the D-line, LB and CB levels. But with the emergence of many young players on the backend and experienced gained it is obvious the Bucs team doesn't lack talent as many of those in the echo chamber believe.
My position has been clear in that the Bucs need to keep upgrading the talent along the trenches. OT, OG and DE are obvious areas of improvement for the Bucs heading into 2019. Throw in DT as well but that depend upon a lot of factors.
