This was a great win. We were far from perfect, but every part of the team did their job.
- Defense gave up points, but had 2 key turnovers, and some good sacks. Offense ran the ball well, and capitalized on the turn overs. Special teams did their job (welcome back Barth) and our offense got points from Rainey's big return. This was to me, Lovie's best win since being here (not that much to choose from...lol)
I know a lot of people are going to be negative and say it was against the Jags and Bortles threw 4 TDs, but keep in mind also we ran all over their 4th ranked run defense. Football is really simple, it's all about who makes more plays. Our team made more plays today in all areas of the game. While watching other teams though yesterday, I noticed something. There are really only 3 complete teams in the NFL that do mostly everything well, and that's the Pack, Pats, and Cardinals. Those teams were all years in the making. Every other team is flawed, and every other team has it's frustrations on Sunday. Should we expect more from Lovie as the season goes on? Yes. To me anything less than 6-7 wins is not okay. More blowouts are not okay. But at the same time seeing other teams really put things in perspective for me, and I think a lot of fans on this board simply have too high of expectations. Few teams can put a complete game together week in and week out. Hopefully we can get there one day, but this was a good step forward.
