While an edge at #19 is likely a high priority, depends on who is there. I still think Jihaad Campbell is just as high a priority. The more I see him, the more I suspect our Bucs have him in the mix at #19.
Again, depends on whether a great edge prospect is available, or not.
I like a corner in the 2nd.

It certainly wouldn't be surprising. I just don't see any scenario where Campbell is the BPA there, but it wouldn't be a surprise for Campbell to be the pick.
Can you think of any other franchise that has used a first round pick (one of which being a top-5 selection) on Interior Linebackers twice in seven years? If it's happened, I can't think of it.

To continue with this scenario, If Campbell is available at #19, which edge rusher do you think will still be available that would be a better pick than Campbell? I really want an edge rusher, too, but if BPA is Campbell I won't be disappointed if they pick him.

I would have both Pearce and Scourton in front of Campbell.

Seahawks maybe (from memory)

I went back to 1990 and the only Inside LB they drafted in the first round was Anthony Simmons @ #15 in 1998.
Curry was a top 5 pick in 2009, but he was an OLB. He was supposed to be Derrick Brooks 2.0. That didn't quite work out.
Bucs are going to draft a tweener to play ILB because of what Bowles wants the ILB to do in his scheme kind of like the safeties have responsibilities for. So that is why the 2nd/3rd round is the prime area to draft an ILB for Bowles scheme. I just do not see a scenario where the Bucs say yeah lets take an ILB in round 1 and ignore value that will drop to them outside of the top 15. You have to be a Vilma level special player to be taken that high and that does not exist in this draft.
@onebigdaddy Ok thanks for the info...but I dont see him listed...maybe he return to school for one year..interesting prospect though
Cornerback: While not seen as their most pressing need right now, cornerback could be a consideration if the value is right at pick 19. Benjamin Morrison from Notre Dame is a name that has come up in discussions
who are top 3 CB in the draft?
where are they predicted to go?
It makes my brain hurt when you do this, so short answer, no.While an edge at #19 is likely a high priority, depends on who is there. I still think Jihaad Campbell is just as high a priority. The more I see him, the more I suspect our Bucs have him in the mix at #19.

As I said, it would make sense to me to add an edge, either of those you mention would seem acceptable, sit him behind a hopefully rejuvenated/itching-to-show who he really is, Haason Reddick. Give the new edge a season in an NFL weight program… but I also don’t see a lot of teams doing that with 1st round draft picks, either.
I think our defensive needs at ILB, Corner, and Safety may dictate BPA at a position of need, at #19.
But then I don’t understand why we recently created cap room, but don’t seem to have much urgency in FA to find any of those positions of need? Maybe we’ll find some role players and add draft selections to back fill them?
Strange one this year.
Licht could be planning to take advantage of
ESPN saying we need a starter level corner in case Dean goes down
"[The Bucs] addressed cornerback depth in signing Kindle Vildor after Bryce Hall’s injury last year and Tyrek Funderburk and Josh Hayes’ struggles. But they need a starting-caliber corner as an insurance policy for Jamel Dean, who has struggled to stay healthy."
But does Bryce Hall signing change that a bit?
I think Donovan Ezeirauku is interesting. Don’t know if he lasts till our pick in 2nd round pick. While an edge at #19 is likely a high priority, depends on who is there. Maybe, I don’t know if a 1st round corner falls to #19, there will be some corners there, just not sure they have 1st round value. Wouldn't want to reach just because this draft is skinny on 1st round value. It’s one reason why I think the Buc’s could see value in Campbell.ESPN saying we need a starter level corner in case Dean goes down

To me, the draft is lining up better for Edge in the 1st round, the only position that has similar value at #19 would seem to be DT, which I wouldn’t love, but the talent/value is there.

Agreed
The point you're making about 1st round value is why in an earlier pst I was asking about a list of top 3 or 4 CBs. I doubt they take one at 19 too, but would they take one with their second pick? Or,maybe even trade back with their first? Maybe its the 3rd pick
Its seems they would take a CB somewhere, but they do still have Dean and McCollum, and have now added Hall again, so maybe Dean stays and they feel okay with their depth so they skip the position all together?
Tough to say. I think people on the board mostly say Hall as a good pickup last year
I think Donovan Ezeirauku is interesting. Don’t know if he lasts till our pick in 2nd round pick.
Zero chance he’s there for us in the 2nd round.
