"I definitely think so, you look at the fullback position in general,” said Smith. “You're kind of limited with what you can do with a traditional fullback. Normally they're not great special teams players. Normally the tightend, if you're that type of athlete, you can do a lot of different things. In an ideal world, yes you want an H, tightend like Tim Wright, so you can split him out. Occasionally trick the defense and put him in the backfield where they have to defend two back runs. It does give us flexibility."

I don't know that I buy into this.  Seems to me you could just as easily line up with Mike James or Lonnie Prior as a FB and occasionally split them out wide to make the defense play the pass.
