So far this year, every Thursday Night Football game has been a blow out by 20 points or more, 30 or more in most of the games. All of the homes teams have one with the exception of Washington. The question is, with the new constraints on practice time, hitting, and a short week, is a game on Thursday really necessary or fair especially to a visiting team? NY did beat up on Washington but they are relatively close and Wash had a backup QB. Read through articles on a Google search of "Thursday Night Football" and there are tons of stories about the quality of the games, player safety, and the huge disadvantage for the road team. Did some of this play into the pounding our Bucs took a couple of Thursdays ago? GB just kicked the crap out of the Vikings at home last night, while they looked pretty good last week. GB also got stomped on the first Thursday night game of the year in Seattle. When Thursday night was a late season addition it helped to drive more interest headed into the playoffs. The games meant something. With what I've seen so far this year and last, the NFL needs to look at returning to that format. Hey, but money over everything, including the quality of your brand.
