It feels like Tampa will need to address both of these positions in the off-season. I think it may be prudent to do so through free agency. I was relieved to learn that the Falcons are going to franchise tag Pitts.
What about signing Algiers and Njoku. Or we wait on a RB until 3rd/4th round of the draft.
I do think TE is a huge weakness for us right now and if we can land a good one, it would be game changing for our offense.
Both would be very solid pick ups for the right price.
Atlanta is franchising TE Kyle Pitts.
I like the prospect of Algiers provided he comes cheaper than White with Tucker filling the third spot...I'd rather Likely out of Baltimore over Njoku and here's why..First from a youth standpoint Likely is 25 compared to Njoku 29, he offers a longer production window Likely is still growing into his role where Njoku has seen decreases in his production(just a product of being a Brown?) but is more of a reliable vet than game changer, and I've seen projections of Likely' contract projections being in the 2 year 17 million range, Njoku is 2 years 20 mil. I'd prefer Pitts if the Falcons go against what they've suggested and don't tag him, but if they do then Likely is my choice over everyone including Otten.
Too much money for Allgeiers.
Bucs need to sit tight with the RBs they have with Irving, Tucker (RFA), Wright and Williams. If they do not trust any of them in pass pro then you nab a cheap vet for third downs.
At TE you need a guy that can play in space as the Bucs have Durham for blocking and Culp as the reserve. Likely or Njoku is where the money should be spent along with ILB and edge for free agency.
Njoku in FA. Draft a RB 4th rd or later
Focus draft on d-line, o-line, LB

This right here.
Rosenthal has Otton as a top 20 free agent and the top TE available after Pitts news on franchise tag:
"Welcome to Cade Otton Island, where you can run any offense you want while never giving an inch in the run game. In our growing two-tight end world, every NFL team needs an Otton."
I do think TE is a huge weakness for us right now
There is no bigger weakness for the Bucs this upcoming season than edge rusher and ILB. None. I was disappointed they didn't address either position last year other than afterthoughts.

Dude didn't watch a snap of Otton if he thinks this

Yup. Front 7 is a god awful... Bowles only true excuse

this
i mean they have to address it this season or they are transparently focused on the books more than competitiveness or they are just riding Bowles out.

He has no excuse as he and his hand picked assistant defensive coaches have not only had say strong say in who was selected/brought in, but also failed miserably to develop a single one of them. ( outside of David and Vea...I put SVD on Bowles...Licht brought in Free Agents and draft picks to challenge him (granted walker got injured) but Bowles himself said it didn't matter who he had he could make it work, or something to that extent.
but also failed miserably to develop a single one of them. ( outside of David and Vea.
Lavonte David was a great player before Bowles ever entered the building. Vita Vea was drafted prior to Bowles too, but I guess one could give credit for his "development" to Bowles' and his staff. Although I'd argue he's more or less the same type of player.
had say strong say in who was selected/brought in
agree.
Bowles system needs a weird, hybrid-ish edge player and that has been a big fail. SVD is also his guy and that's off to a rocky start. Another reason why the move to keep Bowles was strange, sort stuck in a weird place.
