Titans vs. Bucs: Week 1 Q&A with Titan Sized by David Rumsey 1h ago Titans_Zpsocyztk0M.pngIt’s finally time to kick off the 2015 NFL season. You’ve waited all summer long and now you get to sit back and watch no. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston tear up the Tennessee Titans. Don’t forget who’s on the other side, though. That’s right, it’s no. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota, the only QB to ever defeat Jameis Winston in college football. The two rookie QBs ironically start their NFL careers against each other. It’ll be a great chance to compare the two, even if that’s not what either one wants. We caught up with Les Bailey (@Spin_47) of Titan Sized and asked him a few questions in preparation of Sunday’s season-opener.1. How has Marcus Mariota progressed and what about him should scare the Bucs defense the most on Sunday?Marcus Mariota has made real strides since coming aboard. After the debacle in Atlanta he was stellar throughout the remainder of preseason. We didn’t get a large sampling, but we got a real sense for his football aptitude and his raw athleticism. The Bucs need to spend more time covering his receivers because he doesn’t get rattled in the pocket, and is very good at this juncture at understanding the defense and finding his receivers in progression. Then there’s that speed if he does decide to run.2. What kind of challenges will Dick LeBeau’s defense pose for Jameis Winston?Dick LeBeau’s defense is designed to pressure the quarterback, and after what we saw against the Browns, I suspect he will turn Orakpo loose to seek out and destroy Jameis Winston. We have some questions in the secondary with Jason McCourty out as you have seen against good quarterbacks like Matt Ryan and Alex Smith.3. Do any Titans players or coaches (especially Marcus Mariota) feel like this game is a chance to prove Mariota was the better choice than Winston?Mariota and coach Whiz continue to avoid the Mariota vs. Winston scenario and are pushing this as a Titans vs. Bucs game. I suspect that in the locker room the team wants to prove that the Titans got the best of the rookie quarterbacks.4. Is there a Titans player that maybe isn’t getting much hype that could end up making a big impact Sunday?Everyone in Nashville continues to downplay rookie wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham as a work-in-progress, but you have to know that if he finds the Ah-Ha moment in Tampa, he could have a good day.linkMariota_Zpszs2Hpvsa.png
