The one area I think might hurt Glennon's chances the most in Tedford's offense is that while Tedford does have a lot of quick-hitting plays, he also seems to like to move the QB around a lot via bootlegs and roll outs. I am not sure how much Glennon is up to that.
Tedford could probably work wonders with Manziel. Doubt the team goes a QB that high though.

Didn't Alex Mack, the top free agent C, go to Cal?

Another poster pointed this out in a different thread. Can't remember who. Detrimental or FRG, I think. But yeah, Tedford has always gotten tons of production from the RB position. People talk about the QB's he's coached, but check out the list of RB's he's coached:Michael PittmanReuben DroughnsMaurice MorrisJ.J. ArringtonMarshawn LynchJustin ForsettJahvid BestShane VereenNearly every RB this guy touched in college wound up getting drafted. That is impressive.
I don't really know much about Tedford, so I'm merely asking this... not criticizing. Rodgers and Lynch are the only 2 players, that Tedford recruited, that really saw success in the NFL. What makes you think that he can judge players at the NFL level and give them the best chance to succeed. When you factor in his mediocre college track record (50-45 in the Pac-10 over 11 seasons), I think he's more of a crap shoot than anything. No?
That bold part isn't true. I'm not going to run off a full list, but way more than two of his recruits have had successful NFL careers. He's put a lot of talent into the NFL. They may not be mutli year pro bowlers, but there are guys he's recruited that have or are having long, productive NFL careers, which is successful by any realistic measure. Not every college coach gets 5 or 6 DeSean Jackson's, Marshawn Lynch's, or Aaron Rodgers' during their tenures. College is also different than the Pros. There is a draft. In Tampa, he won't be competing with Stanford, Oregon, and USC for talent, with academic requirements hindering who he can and cannot recruit. It's a draft in the NFL. Much different process. I have little concern about his ability to scout talent. The biggest question mark is how he adjusts as NFL defenses adjust to him. That is the only concern I have, and I think he's a smart enough offensive mind to handle that.As for his record, well, the Pac 10 is competitive, his recruiting had slipped some, and his record was weighed down by a few bad seasons at the end. He made 8 bowls in 11 years and won 5. He competed with and even beat USC during the Carroll years. That's impressive, IMO, considering that Cal is not a prime recruiting powerhouse.
Basing a guy off how his players translated from college to pro is silly. Every single coach puts a ton of bust into the NFL every year. He has put out a number of successful players too. Some players go to bad situations, some get hurt and some just are not pro players. The only thing I care about is how he runs an offense and can he get the best outta his players. Based on how he fared against better teams, I'd say he should be fine.

Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz, two of the Browns starters on O-line.
Trent Dilfer drafted #6 in 1994 NFL Draft.Akili Smith drafted #3 in 1999 NFL DraftAJ Feeley drafted #155 in 2001 NFL DraftJoey Harrington drafted #3 in 2002 NFL DraftBilly Volek - UndraftedKyle Boller drafted #19 in 2003 NFL DraftAaron Rodgers drafted #24 in 2005 NFL DraftThis guy has a pretty good damn resume with QBs.
Cal's offense for the last two or three years Tedford was there is a misleading look into his philosophy. He did not have the offensive talent that he did earlier in his tenure there, so he did what a lot of innovative offensive coaches do when strapped with inferior talent, he schemed around it. Even still, both of his starting wideouts were drafted last season, and both made an immediate impact in the NFL.To see his real vision, it's better to look at film from 2002-2009, when he had the talent necessary to fully run his scheme.
His talent at the QB position was just completely miserable. Longshore, Ayoob, Riley and Maynard were absolute trash bag QBs. Those were his guys after Rodgers left CAL.
That looks tailor made for Glennon. The more I hear about Tedford the more I like him.
Yep !
Has it been confirmed he's actually signed?

The only area Glennon struggled in was when he stayed in the pocket as the play was designed and got a heavy rush forcing him to scramble. On the rare occasions Sullivan had him roll out by design, he looked just fine. Part of our issue there is our O'line is so un-athletic, they have a hard time getting their blocks when moving laterally... We may be going after FA O'linemen this off-season, or - SHOCK - actually draft a couple...

I don't blame Dom, because if Nicks was healthy it's a completely different OL (and hopefully still will be), but you're right especially when it comes to Penn. A lot of talented, and athletic tackles in this draft, hopefully Bucs can add one with their 2nd pick. Even if they do though, Penn probably is still week 1 starter and if he could just keep himself around 3-fifty maybe he can hang on and have a career year.
these guys couldnt block a screen to save their life
So does Tedford use a FB often or is he more of a single back kinda guy?

From 3SK's thread he uses multiback sets. Whether its two RBs or 1 RB and 1 FB, idk.
