How about the GM drafts better players with premium picks.
dude. Why are you dying on this hill.
Sure lichts seat will be warm heading into next coaching decision but this team is the most talented team in the division and is nose diving. Bowles and his weak support is to blame
He got so nervous when coen was carrying the team that he might lose his job, they went with a weak grizz hire. Terrible
Because when you take out the Brady years the team looks the same under FOUR head coaches.
and Licht rightfully will have a hot seat with next hire
remember he was gifted Bowles by Brady or Arians.
now if he chose Bowles with a full coaching search, yeah you may have a point but in this scenario, his hands were tied
if he botches next hire, yes Licht can get terminated in 2-3 years
but right now, it’s getting a competent offensive mind here to make this a top 5 offense again
and since we can’t get Liam coen back, it’s klint kubiak time
This team is performing on the higher end of the 2014-2019 teams. He’s missed on perhaps 7 1st or 2nd round picks since the Super Bowl
yet somehow still the most talented team in the division and alas under Bowles we have underachieved in 2 of the 4 seasons
Are we sure about that? We have some sorry ass players playing a lot of snaps.
yes. Who’s more talented team?
We have better top end players but Carolina has less bad players. We have 6-10 guys playing who are horrible.

Looking at the last 2 years, I am not sure there’d be one panther that would crack the starting offensive lineup
Dowdle doing well but he isn’t better than Bucky Irving
Bucs have underachieved this year man. It’s okay. I like Todd the human being too but we need to see results and that falls on the head coach particularly when the GM has set you up with a more talented team this year than last year

Today? Their entire interior OL, TEs. Coker and T. McMillan are better than Godwin that point.
Evaluate players. Evaluate coaches, particularly on offense where there's some chance some of them could be retained - or not. He may not call the plays, but he can have an influence on what Griz is doing. He can lend some experience on the offensive side of the ball where there has been none. Perhaps Gruden might know when to call timeouts?@catherder what exactly do you propoese that Gruden does if he came in for 2 weeks ?
yeah any new coach isn’t fixing baker by next Sunday and certainly isn’t fixing the defense if it has Bowles selected weak ass staff
Perhaps he might remember how to coach to win playoff games? It's been a while, but I think he'll remember.
Keeping the status quo is giving up on the season. Gruden's not going to be a miracle cure, but it could only help as long as people don't have a ridiculous notion that he's going to take us on a Superbowl run because he did it before. That's not what this would be about. I'd be OK if he just put together a respectable loss in the home playoff game. As it is we'll get embarrassed and that's what I think we should be avoiding. An embarrassment in a home playoff game could have more emotional damage to this team and the fans than not making it at all.
I have practiced patience and always leaned on the side of stability by sticking by Bowles since Bruce left, but I think I've seen enough. He doesn't deserve all the blame, but if defense is supposed to be your calling card, and the same issues persist year after year, then this offseason is a good time to move on.
The worst part is letting Coen walk and seeing the success he's having - that hurts. I hope that doesn't haunt us for years to come.
As far as Bowles replacement, crazy there is really a serious Gruden crowd lol, I love Gruden, but no - he's 62 and don't think going back to an ex-girlfriend is ever a good idea.
We HAVE to go with a young offensive mind! - Joe Brady and Klint Kubiak should be the TOP targets. PERIOD.
Only question now is who is our next head coach?
Not a clue, but it's overwhelmingly likely it will be a DEI based, undeserved and unearned hiring.
Well, that's probably what Glazers will do. They've been known to start using those back channels and it would be really surprising if they weren't doing that as we speak.Dead serious. So I'll repost the question. If you are GM and you want to make the most of the rest of this season, whats a better idea? I'm all ears, but not holding my breath that you have one.
If I were GM, and ownership gave me 100% full autonomy with the coaching decisions, then I finish out the season with Bowles.
Begin the new HC search now.
Fire him after the end of the season.
As for Licht, as I said before - this is his roster. It's his baby. Nobody has a greater reason to fire Bowles than he does regardless of their personal relationship. We can argue who's fault is it Licht or Bowles or both. But we know what side Licht falls on.
What is the relationship between Licht and the Glazers when it comes to a new hire? We don't really know. Malcolm overrode McKay and that whole situation, but don't assume we have the same relationship between the Glazer kids and Licht.

@catherder While I can somewhat see what you're getting at, if there are no assurances for Gruden whats the point in him evaluating coaches or players? Whomever the new coach is will likely bring with them a whole host of new coaches, and the roster will have some turnover for the better, and potentially for the worse depending on what the systems the new coach runs. of all the coaches on staff the only ones I'm really lobbying to keep going forward are OL coaches, and Moore(because he's forgotten more in his sleep than most will ever know) everyone else can GTFO. You know Coen will be watching as he'd snatch up Carberry and Picucci(sp?) to bring to Jax. in honesty all Gruden would be doing is getting facetime with the Chucky face, and showing some emotion on the sideline(much needed) outside of that there's just not much there. He's not changing practice habits, he's not changing how coaches coach, and really if you wanted someone to help show Griz the ropes which is the main thing I agree with is that we already have Tom Moore on staff that could step in and help him out. Gruden doesn't intimately know the plays that we run, so really it would boil down to "hey Griz why don't you throw a screen pass here" (which screen play coach?). Yes he could certainly help with the TO's but i just think the benefits are minimal. I think for the ones calling for Gruden are just longing for some familiarity on the sideline, and assurance that some kind of change is on the immediate horizon. Another thing to keep in mind is Gruden NEVER developed a single young player during his time here, and he also rarely had back to back seasons with success. it was 12-4 (2002), 7-9 (2003), 5-11 (2004), 11-5 (2005), 4-12 (2006), 9-7 (2007), and 9-7. Don't get me wrong I love Gruden but it's best to appreciate what he brought to the franchise, but to keep him in the past at this point. I also want Bowles gone as I have for the past 3 years but I want it done in a way that promotes sustained success going forward with a coach that has some mix of killer instinct, fire. and integrity.

I say double or nothing! Give me Brian Flores! 😂
Flores can do something with this defensive talent assembled. The problem is who is the OC for this offense?

Defensive talent assembled. Have you watched Dennis and Diaby play?
