His presser was awful! Panthers are the worst team I've ever seen .... and I saw all of our games in seventies!
And he was takling about the great win ... bullshit! HE HAS TO GO! He was supposed to go after that zero coverage all out blitz call, and never get any job again!!
I do not believe I ever saw worse team with healthy starting QB than Panthers. Unless they wanted to give this one to us and hurt both Saints (playoffs) and us (Bowles) this was unbelievable! They were playing the worst passing defense in the league and hardly attempted any pass. They continued running into Vita Vea and punting. Baker was hurt all over his body and Canales called some dumb plays that could match Shanahan's SuperBowl misery. The only thing they did well was pass coverage and taking Mike out of the game.... and Bowles calls that great..... AWFUL!!! HE MUST GO!!!!
Yeah only Todd Bowles would manage to win the must win game but being a pathetic win, didn’t really help his cause
the eagles nose diving might be a better barometer for him
i still think it’s more likely he stays, then be let’s go given the overachievement of the team
but if a Mike tomlin were to some reason want to come to Tampa or bill B or Harbaugh, could see glazers making a splash
but put it currently at 90% he stays
I think hes gonna be back for next year. And boy is it gonna be ugly. We might win 3 games with him as HC against that schedule.
Big Canales fan, but yesterday's poor performance is on him. CLEARLY opponents have found something.
And if anything Bowles' defense won the game, a defense that has obvious holes (Neal, White) and young guys in key roles performing (Diaby and even JTS) and old guys on their way out (Shaq).
This is one reason the comments suggesting the Bucs are not young is just weird. Its this experience - as imperfect as it may be - that will help guys like Diaby and Kancey and White and Mauch become better football players.
Mauch, as one example, was destroyed multiple times yesterday. No doubt he will use that as motivation. We may get destroyed. by the eagles, but then again they are a mess so who knows? but either way, great experience for a YOUNG team
Weird to want to blow that all up, start over . .
Guy is very fortunate that Saints, Falcons, and Panthers are even worse at head coaching in the league. Or he'd been gone today had any of those teams had any sort of competency from the FO.
I think it was option A. Just my 2c. Uhm they won yesterday, how many players got injured and STILL came back into the game...Baker was one, LVD was another. Had Baker not hit my guy Gwin, who knows what may have happened, had Baker not scrambled for the first down on a bum ankle and with bum ribs... Kitties could have launched a comeback (uhm 2003, we had the Colts game IN THE BAG, until the middle of the 4th quarter). In any case we won an ugly as$ game by any means neccesary. As to his speech, you all hated it??? I loved it, everyone gets a game ball, because it takes a complete team effort to win gutsy games like that. I hope Bowles gave everyone a game ball, including those that didnt play a down, the coaches, the trainers, the medical staff. After that do or die game, when the offense wasnt clicking, we STILL found a way to force our way into the playoffs. We didnt just barely beat the Kitties, they were never going to score against us, even the 2 "touchdowns" they scored, failed because of one Superman play, and the other because they shot themselves in their own foot. Buc fans are hard to please. I was anti Bowles as well, but hes been head coach for 2 years, 2 division titles (albeit arguably the worst division in football) and you guys want him fired. Having BA and Tom Brady made us fans spoiled AF. Are you not entertained? If not, find the ON/OFF switch on your TV. Nobody NEEDS you.
FWIW, Schefter, Stroud and Kaufman all opined that yesterday's win would be enough.
Who knows? anything is possible

Yep.
He was the tallest midget in the room.
Carolina is an absolute dumpster fire.
New Orleans, hopefully, may do the stupid thing and retain Allen.
But, then there's Atlanta. Imagine if they bring in an offensive-minded HC, with those weapons, and nab their future QB (like Daniels or Penix). That could be a scary scene.
I think Coach Bowles will be back for another year, however, Jason Licht hasn't made any statements to that effect. It's early on Monday, but it's something to watch for. Because if there is no encouraging statement of some kind from Licht in the next couple days then it's possible that the Bucs are waiting to see what happens with the playoff game before making a decision.
Look the Eagles are in shambles, and we've got a home game. It's winnable, and that's our Superbowl realistically. This is particularly true if the next game is against the Niners after that. The Bucs are banged up and gutting it out. They'd be traveling across the country on a short week to play the NFC favorite who was able to rest the starters Week 18 and have the bye. It's not realistic to hope for success in those conditions if that's the matchup the Bucs get handed.
So, absent of any statement from Licht, you can't assume Bowles is safe. Licht is well aware that the public perception is that Bowles could be on the hot seat. He could clear it up with a simple one sentence statement.
Good point.
The counter, just trying to come up with one may be that there is no reason for the team to make that kind of statement now? Not sure, but yes he's is not guaranteed to return so he need his team to play well. A win against the Eagles seems very unlikely so that would be a big one

of course he is quiet, we‘re still in the game, it would be insane to make any comments now

Agree. First of all it wasn’t like Bucs won 11 games or even won that last game convincingly. No need to make a ringing endorsement of Bowles publicly. Keep everyone hungry.
finishing the season winning 5 of 6 games however all but guaranteed Bowles returning
low expectations that the Bucs exceeded with 3 years left on contract. A no brainer if you are making bets with friends
Bucs weren’t supposed to win division this year. Only Bucs players and hopeful fans would have thought so

Agreed.
I think the likelihood of him getting fired now are slim.
The spin will be "better record, dead cap, etc."
He'll be here another full season.
SR dropping some knowledge in the FAB 5, INCLUDING WHY BOWLES WAS NEVER GETTING FIRED LAST YEAR
"Bowles was named Bruce Arians’ replacement on March 30, 2022 after the first two waves of free agency was over. "
"one of Arians’ directives to Bowles was that he keep the coaching staff intact during the 2022 season."
"Bowles had some fundamental differences of opinion with offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and some of the offensive staff members, but his hands were basically tied that first year."
AND WHAT WAS ONE (MAJOR) FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE?
"Bowles wanted to run the ball more and have a balanced offense, which would be a more complementary style of football to aid his defense."
AND AS RECENTLY AS LAST WEEK IT WAS POSTED HERE THAT "BOWLES ENDED BARDY'S CAREER." SR RESPONDS TO THAT WITH THE UNTHINKABLE . . THE WORDS THAT ONE IS NEVER TO POST:
"Even though some suggest that Bowles ruined Tom Brady’s final season in Tampa Bay – and the NFL – keep in mind that Brady’s decline was more his own doing."
ONE OTHER FASCINATING PIRCE OF INFO. CANALES WAS NOT THE FIRST CHOICE and a reflection of the circumstances:
"[BOWLES] had to play with a rookie play-caller in Dave Canales, as several of the offensive coordinator candidates Bowles interviewed in the offseason turned down the opportunity due to the coach’s shaky job security."
