Well, I had him losing the locker room back in October so boy was that wrong. Glad to see the success.
lol at 4-7 his approval rating was half of 1 percent! I dont think there were many clamoring to keep him, even his wife pondering divorce
well, he saved his job yesterday
I do not like that but there is nothing that can be done now

last time Bucs won a playoff game without Brady.....was our Superbowl in 2002 season; the man's earned it
i dont like Bowles either but the guys have stepped up for him and it's good that they didnt quit like Eagles did. Kudos to Bowles. You deserve it.
I think a lot of credit also goes to the veteran players who didn't allow the team to phone it in even when they were 4-7. I saw the look on Bowles face when they lost to Houston, and it was a look of defeat. He knew then, so I thought, that his days were numbered. The only question was whether he'd make it to the end of the season. Just look at the Eagles for Exhibit A of giving up when the going gets tough. The players don't give up in outward ways like getting on the cell phone and eating hot dogs on the sidelines. But they give up in smaller ways like not making tackles and not communicating. When the Bucs had Chase Edmonds and Rachaad White fighting first downs when they were stopped behind the line that shows you which team came to play and which team didn't.Well, I had him losing the locker room back in October so boy was that wrong. Bowles owes a lot of credit to the veterans, because I don't think Bowles turned around a losing team with motivational speeches. It turned around because those players stayed focused, especially Baker Mayfield was the most important one of those.

Yep.
The one thing you can definitively say, is that the team came prepared and ready to play last night.
Something we've rarely seen under his tenure.
Kudos to him.

The end of the season Eagles were similar to the Bucs last year, busting apart a bit because they were not not really a team as much as a collection of individuals, struggling to meet past success.
And yes, I agree that Bowles and the VET players deserve a lot of credit for holding the team together during a rough spell
If you listen to the players the love Bowles and Canales BUT ALSO CREDIT . . . .. Mayfield
Tristan Wirfs talking about relatable Mayfield this year as compared to Brady last year (no discredit, different circumstances) and you should see that the team has taken on Mayfield as its identity . . the team that everyone underestimates
Great ride so far.

"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did well to get Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans signed before the legal tampering window opened Monday, which is a good sign for the environment that Todd Bowles has created in Tampa after Bruce Arians. Simply put, guys like that aren’t forfeiting a chance to hit the market if they’re not going back to a good place to work."
Multiple players credit Bowles, so probably some truth in that?
Bowles never lost the locker room during the losing period, but he was just a hot minute away from getting canned anyway. I give a lot of credit to the veteran leaders as well, for not hitting the panic button. But Bowles gets credit for keeping the ship steady during the ups and downs of the season.Albert Breer

Some good NFL teams quit when they encounter adversity. The Eagles of last season are one example. The Bucs had a tough slump but stuck together, got better at the end. Bowles demeanor, Mayfield’s demeanor, true veteran pro like LVD … all play a part

Pittsburgh’s success is based on continuity. They don’t fire coaches, they allow them to develop, discover the areas that don’t prove to be working, then go out and find the staff necessary to fill that shortcoming. They’re in tough division, but they consistently win more than they lose.
Firing the head coach had become the cheap way to bilk fans out of cash, without a whole lot of consequence. The culture was elevated with the coming of the GOAT. It has remained after he left. I believe that changed this organization. Getting to that level is one thing, remaining there is harder. It sure looks like everything from ownership to exec’s, to coaching, to personnel, is finally on the same page. By all appearances, we’ve ‘leveled-up’.
Continuity.
So as we bask in the glory of our 9-8 season, dare I ask how much rope Bowles has this year? I don't want to say he's on the "hot seat" any more than any other NFL head coach is. Saying he's on the "hot seat" implies that there's already disappointing results and he needs to turn it around. That's not the case. It's not fair to put him in the "hot seat" category, but that doesn't mean he has total immunity.
But there are expectations for this team now. They signed veteran players. They aren't in rebuilding mode. There are rumblings of getting to the NFC Championship game being a realistic goal. Bowles is in the 3rd year of a five-year deal, but that doesn't mean much in the world of NFL coaches. They can be fired at any time.
What does Bowles need to do in 2024 to keep his job for 2025?
Playoffs, that simple
I want him gone, the sooner the better, but I'd take one more playoff year over Bowles being fired any time
So as we bask in the glory of our 9-8 season
lol, that's a good line.

Yup.

I’d say he’s more likely to get fired this year than the last two. Third year of contract and higher expectations
BUT … if you look and this thread and other Bowles threads you see a lot of WRONG (myself included). The primary reason for all that wrong about Bowles is that most leave out THE CIRCUMSTANCES - Brady transition, Arians transition, cap clearing etc. He has been the “good soldier” during this period and so he has some goodwill built up.
