Tom Brady Announces Retirement

If you told me three years ago that the Bucs will get Tom Brady with 3 playoff appearances and a Super Bowl, I would take it enthusiastically. Many thanks to TB12!

Thanks for the cap space and SB championship.  It would have been interesting to see what he'd have done on the Niners though - and a  great final chapter to his story.

I'm relieved, honestly.   We had the Brady show.  Then we had the encore.  Then we had another encore.   Enough already.  It's been fun, but nothing lasts forever, and if people couldn't see that it was time it's because they were intentionally denying the reality in front of them.  It's time to move on to the next chapter, good, bad or ugly, for the Bucs.  Brady could obviously see that it was time for him to move on as well.  

Yep , no doubt it was time , he looked bad out there too often this year .

So that opened up cap space plus the cap went up. We will work magic to restructure some players if they want to remain with the team. I think Fournette will be cut and 76 better be cut. I know his name, just won't say it because he is awful .

Thank You Tom! I'll never forget your video telling Bucs fans you were coming, and the magical Super Bowl season that followed. 

Was hoping he’d come back for one more year. 

Hate that his last year was sabotaged by a mental midget at OC. 

He still had it physically, but clearly by this decision, his heart wasn’t in it anymore. 

Look forward to him being inducted into the Ring of Honor. 

After listening to the talking heads talk about SF and Oak as destinations for Brady, here's an interesting tidbit from Darlington:

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Brady told those close to him that his decision was down to two choices: retire or return for another year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He made the right choice , finally the Bucs can stop kicking the can down the road

If he thought he was still really at top of his game (he's not, father time always wins) and/or that Bucs were a talented team that was just a better play caller away from the Super Bowl (they are not) he would have announced he was back. Most competitive guy on the planet.

He would have said to himself that last year's distraction (divorce) was largely behind him, so it was a real chance to win it all AGAIN, especially in a weak division.

Bet he helps the Bucs with the 6/1 option. Fun run with him. Truly the GOAT.

We still have a bunch of dead cap with him...

I'm coming around to letting Trask stink it up for a year so we can tank without tanking.

And if by some miracle he does well I'll happily eat that crow!
