Michael Silver @MikeSilverRaider coaches looking for better options: I'm told Tony Sparano may be bolting for the Bucs & Lovie Smith's staff & more securityHas HC experience, very good OL coach, gives Bucs inside track to snag Oakland's LT Veldeer in FAThis is the 4th Coach on Smith's staff currently with HC experience. May be 5 after they bring Marinelli in as DL Coach. (Which is also very possible)
Landing Veldeer in free agency would be nice.
This would be awesome.
Are Raiders going to let him walk though? They would be silly if they did.

Agreed because that would limit what they can do with their first round pick. But you never know.
Sparano wasn't a good HC but he is a nifty OL coach. My concern is his background is in the Parcells pound the rock style of game and not the guys in a more WCO/screen offense Tedford runs.
Sparano name was being mentioned with Lovie before we even hired him. I'd be very happy to have him here as the OL coach.

He would quit. He doesn't want to work for Raiders because he doesn't feel secure coaching. He wants to go somewhere where he doesn't have to worry about getting fired anytime soon
More on Sparano - From Mike Silver (NFL Network)"Mark Davis only offering 1-year extensions, against urgings of his GM and head coach. Raider coaches like Sparano looking to bolt...""To clarify re Raiders: No other NFL team puts assistants in that position if committed to the head coach. So no, this is not normal..."
The Raiders have like 50 million UNDER the cap. Their going to go ape shit in the free agent market, so you better believe Veldeer will be back.

Yes but maybe Veldheer doesn't want to stay. Maybe he would also like to go to a team who looks like they'll have some continuity. Anyways it was just a thought
Would love to have him on the staff. We need an experiencec solid OL coach to get our reworked line to play well and cohesively under Tedford's system
Is Sparano under contract like Rod Marinelli?

Franchise tag. He'll be a Raider next year.
