Is Sparano under contract like Rod Marinelli?
Yes but one year
He is still a quality OL coach nevertheless. Loving the coaching staff that has been assembled. Now we gotta blow it up and revamp, again.
A+ offseason if Smith rebuild this Oline with Veldheer and Mack in free agency...
All your coach are belong to us.
Damn. This staff is really coming together. Stoked.
Terrible HC though....How good is he as OL coach?

OK that made me laugh.
meh, ugh just because someone was a HC doesnt make him a good hire. not sure of his philosophy but whomever comes in will have good talent to work with

he took over a 1-15 team and went 11-5 his first year and was runner up for COTY. He went 7-9 his next two. I'm not saying he was a great HC but after Morris and Schiano I wouldn't use the word "terrible" to discribe his HC career.

While your first sentence is true, it's usually a good indication with an NFL position coach. Failed or not really. It does give that position coach an added degree of recognition amongst a fan base. I would not be the least bit surprised to find it gives the coach a leg up in his meeting room as well. He has a legit NFL resume, and as an OL coach I have heard nothing but rave reviews.
Most guys don't get NFL Head Coaching jobs without working there way up and earning it. So it's safe to say they were pretty good at what they did as assistant coaches.
He has so much experience with OL and TE. he is proven as a positional coach...plus he has been a HC and an OC. He has worked under Schottenheimer, Parcells, Coughlin, and Rex Ryan. Nobody is getting excited JUST because he was a HC. Sparano is legit.
